I have a Dutch import with a Dutch passport. Does anyone know if this is a valid passport (I doubt it, it doesn't even have an owner name and address section in it) and what I should do if not?

It's pretty obvious that if a horse tax of £100 a year is implemented and your passport isn't up to date with the owner name and address (and re-registered with the Passport Issuing Authority too) then there are going to be some pretty hefty fines flying about if you have "evaded" paying the tax because you can't be traced without it.

Crumbs, I can't be alone surely? I had two imports myself and my trainer has three more in livery, there must be thousands in the country.

My French bred arab has a French Arab Studbook passport and like your Dutch ones there is nowhere for owners name and address. Not sure what to do about it really as by law a horse is only allowed one passport. Although saying that two of my other horses have FEI passports and AHS passports. The law is a mess!

Crumbs. Wonder what to do now then? There must be quite a few thousand of us with perfectly valid Euro horse passports who are untraceable for the payment of the UK horse tax. Will they appoint an army of private investigators to find us all? I wouldn't put it past this government, they tax (OK they call it "licence" or "certification" ) anything that moves.
