I have never followed the Dutch stallions as quite closly as i have the German ones, i know a lot of the blood is mixed but i think you follow me

I am thinking of looking into using a Dutch stallion next year so the search has begun, i would like to use lines of the more well known boys but not nessercerily them. They would need to be accepted into Hann or Old studbooks as i would want full paperwork.

Ok so come on pic's and links and info welcome

I'm probabley a bit biased but I've got a lovley mare by Grannex (dutchW.B Grade A SJ). She moves and really JUMPS very bold evented up to intermediate at the mo. Unfortuatley she was out of a 15hh mare (shes 15.2hh) so lacks a bit of scope for top level eventing. He stands in Devon I think. Grannex sired the top pavo 6yrs old at the breeding champs 2006- Granneveka Prince seriously classy horse now an advanced eventer.

if you use a dutch staalion you probably will have more statistics to go on, as their reporting system is fantastic. Somehow the dressage bred onest dont appeal to me the same way as the Germans do, except when they steal the best Tb and Trakehner stallions of course.
Some amazing jumpers though, always look twice if I see an Indoctro or Emillion for sale.

Anyway, which mares where you thinking of and what do you want to improve/maintain etc

Thanks hun like i say just an early look thats as far as my thinking has got, just wanted to spend sometime browsing and chewing over the stallions, i know my mares well and what they need and all 3 if i breed all 3 will be looking for hubby 08 daddys

Johnson is a lovely stallion and has given an excellent foal crop. Or the young dressage crack "Vivaldi", his stock have done exceptionally well at the foal shows this year. Or the typical ones like Jazz, Flemmingh. Or Painted Black, Krack C. Or the new black Jazz son, Westpoint.

It is very much what you want the foal to do and what type you want to breed that is important, I have a lovely young dutch gelding who is bred for dressage which is what I wanted, the great thing is the amount of stats and information on the sires that you get from the Dutch which helps you choose. I also used to breed bavarians which were much heavier but were excellent on lightweight TB mares. It does make your head hurt when you see the choice of stallions so I dont envy you your task.

Johnsons Breeding recommendations from KWPN by chance are sat right by my computer they say Johnson contributes good body length, uphill build and desirable front leg use to dressage horse breeding. Mares should have better hind leg movement

krack c's generally produce fantastic movement but are sharp, jazz's tend to be sharp and ferr's spooky and gribaldi's awkward, i've found that in general the dutch horses are sharper, i like this but it is something to bear in mind. mostly they're eligable for oldenburg. tuschinski, sandreo, vivaldi, rousseau all look nice, i saw a really nice rousseau and we have a lovely Olivi

I agree but in the stable Jazz is certainly lovely and when we saw him there was children in his stable. I think a lot of his reputation for temperament has come from Cocktail who was renowned for it and also Jeanette said when he or his youngsters are ridden they are very bright buttons! If there is something to go oh thats scary they will !

I do like the look of Johnson him but havnt "seen" any of his offspring yet, he is dutch lines but fully Old approved. I have read and it may have been on here that his walk isnt so good but canter to die for? http://www.worldclassstallions.com/web/StallionID/487/studcard2.asp

Like i say just looking for now

Blossy is in foal to Johnson - due April next year

Hes a fantastic mover, and has produced a good crop of foals this year.

His walk isnt that great, but his canter and trot are amazing! Luckily Bloss gets 9s for her walk when out competing, so hopefully they will compliment each other nicely!
