Dylan and I were voted by our local canicross group to run in the Trailrunners demonstration to fly the NorthDowns Canicross flag.
So on the Friday of Crufts Dylan, I and a few friends headed up the joys of the M25. M40 and enjoyed a full hour on junction 6 of the M42!!!!!
Despite the drive there we had a brilliant day. Basically I am sharing far too many photos that are mainly of Dylan and I. One thing I am grateful for in my last relationship was that Dylan was exposed to and very well socialised in busy environments due to where my ex worked and steam rallies etc. So Dylan just lapped up the buzz of Crufts. He got loads of attention and fuss even though he just a mongrel and had lot a of people really interested in cani-cross and also asking us where to get kit etc. Fortunately K9 Trailtime was there and we directed everyone to the stand which proved to be a very popular stall and a canicross hub for gathering at during the day (we were promised chocolate by the gang there
.
I was very restrained in my spending and got stuff I needed rather than the “oooooh I want”
We went up with a couple of friends (From another local group, we tend to run with several groups here as we are very lucky and are all within an hour or so of each other so can often pick runs etc which suit us between them).
Just outside the NEC---at this point I was very very excited.
The three boys behaved amazingly during the day, Ozzie (very very popular boy that day, I abandoned my friend at discover dogs as Ozzie had a queue of fans!!), Archie (who attracted beagles wherever he went) and of course Dylan.
A little pose at K9 Trailtime.
We decided to have lunch before went it, Dylan took the opportunity to snooze (I swear this dog just does this to recharge and then hes all go again!!)
Whats in the bag mum? Not that he needed them as he ate Orijen out of house and home because the guy loved him and got loads of treats, but the boys got sausages for lunch.
Just chillin…
And the most confusing part of the day, the inside loo….. (he had to copy a GSD and then his friends followed)
Quick massage before doing our thing!!! ( he kept sitting on the poor lady ) Good thing though is no obvious soreness
And now the show:
Back stage--- STRESSFULL the dogs got together, someone howled and bang full on chorus from everyone apparently we were running.
And then the deed was done ARGH Dylans biography went along the lines of Rottweiler x Flatcoat, he is full of beans, loves to run and enjoys Brutal runs especially the wet and muddy bits….
(Video still from the youtube clip, sorry all I have as pictures)
And Staffie power-he even got his own extra cheer!!!!
And we are done. Dylan you can relax now … ( the arena is baking hot, the floor was cold, he isn’t silly)
Stalked a PFer with a certain Hound, technically she stalked me…
My next dog I think has to be a proper rottie…..it was later in the day at this point and they had a little play and sniff…
And then apparently it was bed time….. Yes both those bags are full of food (for the best price ever freeeeeee)…
My very modest “haul”
And a few randoms through the day I have to share:
Look at that face!!
Had to queue behind this guy at Dorwest…. What a shame hehe.
There is a dog under there!
Sooooo stressed!!!!
