I listed my trailer for sale on e-bay and put that I have it advertised elsewhere so reserve the right to end the listing and e-bay removed it just because I wrote this!!!!

I have seen loads of listings with this on so why are they picking on me or has this happened to anyone else?

Feel better now

I am frustrated because I had a bid on a jacket - they have removed the listing because it was against their rules - sorry but I could not see what was wrong with the listing - and I WANT that jacket

SSM Well ASQ the seller and ask if they can list it as a BIN for you!

madginger I would suspect that someone reported you. Stick it back on without that it and then if it sells elsewhere end the listing anyway.

Good, I'm glad ebay are finally doing this. The auction is supposed to be legally binding so if you list it and someone bids on it then you are obliged to sell it to them at that price (even 99p) unless you have set a reserve. Too many people list things and then cancel the auction when it does not make enough. As a seller you would not want someone being able to cancel the bid at the last minute then you end up with a lower sale cost.

I did have a reserve on it, no one had placed a bid on it just yet but e-bay have even removed it from my summary so I cant just re-list it (taking out the offending sentence of course), I have to start from scratch.

BTW Galaxy23 it was an Ifor 505 which we had just finished doing up.

I suppose I will just have to start again!

Oh, the one we liked was a Bateson. It was a REALLY good price and was probably bought with the "buy me now" thing they do. Sigh!

Nah! Most most will twig why its gone

You have to be very careful with your wording - we've had some of our Monty Roberts auctions removed, because we said "we stock the full range of MR products!", which we list on ebay, but obviously powers that be think this is fee circumvention encourgaging people to buy outside eBay.

It was just a bit of a shock really as I have been using e-bay for buying and selling for over 3 years and this is the first time it has happened to me, at least I will know not to do it again!

E bay rules can be a pain and seem to be written mainly for e-bays benefit, but as a buyer I find it immensely annoying when I'm watching an item/I've bid on one and it magically disappears. Really p's me off. Not so bad if you get a message from their fraud department saying that for reasons they can't disclose it has been pulled by them rather than the vendor.

It always puts me off if a seller says they are also selling elsewhere, as whatever you bid you know it can still be pulled at the vendors whim. Being a goody goody I've never ended any of my sales early.

E-bay do have rules re allowing the ending of items early so you can do it if you need to, though not in the last 12 hours of the listing if there is a winning bid (i.e. at/over the reserve). See the ebay help item on 'Ending Your Listing Early' for the rules and regulations.

Good luck e-baying.

p.s. If anyone knows all the e-bay rules they are either a genius or a saddo
