Well i will start off with Saturday as we hired Eaglesfield out as they already had the jumps up for the show the next day. Senza jumped like a star!! She is using herself so much better now she has the Myler in and is not smacking me in the face anymore. We had the jumps ranging from 80cm up to 1.10 and in the whole hour we had 3 jumps down and 2 of those were my fault!!! So i started to get really excited about Sunday.
Sunday i went to get her in from the field, before i had even got out the field she decided she didn't want to come in so spun round with me still attached to the leadrope and double barelled me missing me chest by about 4 inches!! I managed to keep hold of her but she ripped my finger to pieces in the process. Que a good hiding!!! Great start ah??
Got to Eagles field and had to wait a class but luckily there were only 16 people in it. Senza was less than impressed though and decided to tank off with me twice rodeoing and smashing the warm up fence down in the process!! I wasn't even in the warm up so there were quite a few spectators diving for cover.
Anyway i didn't even walk the course for the 85cm coz i couldn't trust her enough to let anyone hold her so i learnt it from the sidelines. She went in to have a beautiful round (if not a little bit excitable) and we had 1 jump down due to me asking for a long one but her wanting to put in a short one so that was my fault.
We had to wait ages for class 2 and Senza was getting very aggitated and tired and started to really annoy me by pushing me over every 5 seconds (i had to get off and hold her coz she was stressing out with me on her).
Class 2 (95cm) finally arrived, we came up to No1 and 2 strides out she decided to have a napping fit (a new little trick she has learnt). Any way i pushed her on from about a stride away and we had that one down. She then shot off into no2 and mid air spooked at something knocking the jump down. As she landed she then shot to the side and the took off again (dont ask me how i didn't come off). Jumped no3 & 4 fine but the spooked shooting off to the side again and stopping dead. I nearly did go over the handle bars this time so i gave her a few hard whacks with my reins and carried on. She jumped the rest beautifully and cleared everything by about a foot!! Went through the finish line and someone came out of the ring side cafe and again we shot off across the ring!!
So even though she jumped really well and we had a much better result than the last time we went out (3 knocks and 4 kncoks) the sillyness and spooking ruined it a bit but in all fairness she hasn't been out in 2 months and she had to wait ages for her classes so i am hoping next time she will be better behaved.
