My horse has aural plaques so needs her ears covered when the flies are about. She has a full face mesh mask with ears but I don't like her having her eyes covered all the time.

I bought a crochet bonnet with ears, with a string to tie it on. It's a thin bit of string so if she got caught on anything (unlikely, she's very sensible!) it would give way quickly.

However - it slips round and the ears end up underneath her head :/

Any ideas for ears without mask, that might actually stay put? Or should I just butcher a full face mask?

How about sewing it onto a fly fringe that can be worn in the field? If needed you could snip the dangley bits off?!

My other suggestion would be to butcher an old face mask.

Ooh, even better as I don't have to sew anything lol

How is the fit? My mare is a cob size in almost everything - are they nice and wide over the ears or would I be better going for a full?

From memory they came up quite big so cob should be fine :)
