We have a pony who we think may be reacting to the tannoy & bell at shows before the start of the the round. We are wondering if ear plugs would be permitted at most unafilliated shows and help a ? In what situtaions would they not be permitted ?
A fly veil has been used which may muffle noises a little bit but has not really helped.

I've been looking at EquiFit and Performance Rider ear plugs but other options gratefully considered.

You can use earplugs almost anywhere these days. It depends on how much noise you want to block out. If you want to dull the noise use fleece or sponge ear plugs. If you want to block out all noise completely then the wee foam ones called Plugz are good.

You will need to play around and see which ones your pony prefers, some can't cope with a total silence.

There are no rules for unaffiliated shows. But ear plugs are not allowed in affiliated dressage or eventing, nor in Pony Club. Just check the schedule and see if the show you want to go to is run in compliance with any of those rules.
