Is there such a thing?

I was woken up five times last night by my dogs each wanting to go out at separate times ?

The hounds are reasonable and will go back to sleep if I suggest that they get on their beds and stop being so silly, but George just won’t do that.... he sits and whines, louder and louder, until it turns into a bark....

It’s got to the stage now where whenever a greyhound wakes up and flaps its ears (a regular thing!) then George takes it as a sign that something exciting is going to happen ?

I live in a smallish bungalow and tend to leave all doors open at night - George sleeps on my bed, the hounds sleep in the kitchen/hallway/living room as the fancy takes them ?

Knowing my two if they do exist theyd be more disruptive spending all night trying to take them out!
Would/could you crate him? With a blanket or something over to muffle any noise and keep it dark.

I think I might resort to that - I don’t mind him sleeping on my bed, it’s really cute, but I need to sleep! I may have to beg/borrow/steal a small crate as I’ve only got a greyhound sized one that doesn’t fit very easily into the bedroom where it could be much more easily covered over/muffled ?

OMG you have my deepest sympathy, a George bark in the middle of the night is not what anyone needs!
Frank does a lot of ear rearranging and blanket digging in the night, but it never woke George up (but F slept upstairs and G downstairs).
G did poop in the side alley quite regularly (left open overnight so F could go out through the dog flap if he wanted), he doesn't need to go out does he?
That would do my nut in, hope you can find a solution. Agree with maybe crating him in a covered crate, away from the others. Feel bad suggesting it now that he's living the life of luxury on your bed! But one thing I cannot tolerate is dogs waking me up every night. If Frank has a bad run of waking us up for a few nights he gets banished to sleeping downstairs again - until I eventually relent or he manages to sneak up unnoticed. He's by no means hard done by, he has a bed in nearly every room and sleeps on the sofa as he pleases, so I don't feel too sorry for him! Sleep is so precious and important to be able to function properly.

He reminds me of one of my cats, Cilla. In the Oh, we're awake, does this mean I can make something fun happen-sort of way.
If I wake up before my alarm have gone off, sometimes for unknown reasons, but usually because I need to go up for a tinkle, Cilla usually comes to see if me being awake = it is morning = breakfast time! Yay!

Sometimes if it is only half an hour, an hour left before my alarm is going off, I give in, and do give her breakfast, but if it is like 3 hours left, I just crawl in under my duvet, and hide from her. She now knows that if it is too early, there is no point in coming, and only occasionally gives it a new try, just in case it isn't too early for breakfast this time.

So I'm thinking that instead of thinking of ear plugs for George, I would suggest that you try using ear plugs yourself, because if you can't hear his whining, and can muffle the sound of his barks, he won't get a reaction from you, and then it won't be as fun for him to bark in the middle of the night.

Cotton wool balls. Stuff em in at night and see how you go on. I used them for Rufus when he had his gunshot phobia for a while. Just make sure they're not too small so you don't have to go on a fishing expedition at the vets :)

Ive used cotton wool balls before to muffle firework night, did help one of my scaredy spangles quite a lot. Just dont forget to pull it out before walkies, mustnt give the little terrierist an excuse to ignore you :)
