I have some pomms ear plugs but not sure how far to push them in as I’m worried I’ll lose them

I tried yesterday as my horse hates clippers but they didn’t make any difference so only assume I didn’t put them in far enough

You won't lose them! You can push them in quite a way - poms you tend to push down so they are just level with the opening of the ear.

I much prefer earplugs with string on them - quick pull and they are out. But i do have poms for when out and about and you don't want a string flapping about or showing.

How do they compare noise lessening wise to acoustic ear veil? I find these help with my mare but find bridle slips off quite easily as she’s only got little ears.

You can get different types of ear plugs that give different noise levels. The poms can block all noise completely - some horses don't like being made deaf, some love it! Some plugs you get let in dulled down noise.
