Ear Plugs?

New horse is very sensitive to all new noises in school. Thought ear plugs may settle him a bit?

I know you can buy them but could I just use cotton wool?

yeah just get cotton wool balls with stringy bits on the end and pop them in and put one of the fancy fly viels over the top or just work him through it he'll have to get used to it

we used to have a similar problem with the drving horses at work in heavy traffic, the best solution is tampax! Fluff them out a bit and put them in the ears with the strings sticking out a bit then put a fly veil on top, much easier to remove!
