Ear pomms in field?

Anyone tried it? I've read a fair few people abroad use them to keep their horses settled in the field but not so popular over here. My horse hates the field in winter and will just about tolerate a few hours turnout but absolutely hates the wind. Fine to ride in the wind. Wondering if pomms might take the edge off?? Pros and cons? Thank you

Outstanding in my field!

I have never used them but wouldn't like to use them daily in case the warm, damp atmosphere gave issues. Are they comfortable for a horse?

I can understand using them for firework night or whatever, but that would be all, for me.

I used to use them for hacking my mare. One day, someone commented on how calm and settled she'd been in the field recently (you can see where this is going ...). I realised they were right: she'd been so cuddly and friendly and gentle with the other horses and not her usual marish self. I put it down to her having a healthy workload and growing into herself and the herd (she was 6) ..... And then, yes, I realised she'd had the ear poms in for a few days*cough*about a week.

Horse is only out for a few hours so hopefully no issues with damp etc. I would only use them normally for fireworks ( horse is fine with fireworks) but thinking outside the box!
