A bit of a strange question - what is the earliest / youngest age a filly can get in foal?

Just to add this isn’t because I am planning to put a young filly in foal, just looking at the possibility of something.

Thanks!

It’s not unheard of for a yearling to have an accident!

Some big operations put them in foal at 2 to foal at 3.

Personally putting in foal at 3 would be my planned youngest.

My mare was ‘put in foal’ just after she turned 2, but I use quotes because it was not intentional. At least not by the humans. She’s less developed physically than other 3 year olds I’ve seen. I imagine growing another horse took a lot of energy out of her own growth.

I've known fair few folk put 2 year olds in foal. How early is possible? like any animal I guess, it can happen from the first season
