Early Weekend Thread - Highland Show Week!

We were done in our have a go event type day by 11.30am, so before it was too hot.

BH was initially worried at the unfamiliar arena/warm up, so I rode quite firmly and he did the best work he ever has done. I am usually a bit of a pushover for him preferring to be steady away. The test itself was OK too, sheet attached.

SJ was like the video I posted on Friday. Somewhat underwhelming as it is rather too small.

XC, BH was not the bravest and required to inspect some of the fences before jumping. He did them all though. I was happy that he wasn't nappy back to the others and was calm.

Much to learn. Mostly the lesson of the day for BH was after dressage, when he thought it would be minties and applause from there on in. He was quite horrified when a new sat of tack was hoisted on. He's never had to 'go' twice before.

Saturday I ended up joining one of the riding school lessons as the fields have got too long to ride in  it was good exercise for him though!
Sunday I got up early and we had a jump, I was only planning on keeping it low as we haven't done any 'SJ' type jumping for a while but he ended up jumping around 90cm so I was very pleased, it's been a very long time since he's jumped something like this as I always think it looks massive on those type of blocks (compared to wings, not that I regularly jump 90cm on wings...!)
He's a good boy :)

And looking at that jump position thread, mine definitely needs work, but I stay on and that's what matters :D

Well done all - some great weekends. I was running a camp at Somerford so am exhuausted, sunburnt, and fat! We feed campers very well, which has an unfortunate side effect.... 🤣
Are you planning any more camps? A couple of people I know were at your camp this weekend and their videos look fun and they did really well, I want to be brave again :D
