Earthquake - who else felt it and where are you?

Corby Northants and my bed was shaking violently like a scene from the exorcist!

Son was still awake and he went to come upstairs as I was coming down.... and he just said Mum I think we've just had an earth quake..... Very loud rumbling noise then nothing, then the birds went mad singing!!! Couldn't sleep after that so watched sky news till about 3am!

I'm south west of York and it woke me up and I thought the house was coming down. Husband said it was a freak gust of wind and I thought it might be a train/plane crash but couldn't see anything. When I heard what it was on the 6 am news I was out of bed and down the stables to check on the horses in a flash but they were fine. It was very frightening and if I never experience it again it will be soon enough. My 5 year old slept through it.

Woke me up in Worcestershire because my mirror rattled, I didn't really know what was going on and thought to myself, "oh its another earthquake.." and fell instantly back to sleep

My OH was in hospital so I had only my old Lab and we both nearly papped ourselves. Was sound asleep so took me a while to figure out what was going on

Got quite a fright but it didn't wake the two terrorists, otherwise known as our black lab pups (thankfully

), and I have to admit, about a nano second after it stopped I was deep in the land of nod again.

We're about 15ish miles north and we woke up thinking the steelworks had gone up :O the house was rattling and shaking like crazy!

Woke up to a disgusting state, it must have scared our two elderly GSDs to death, they'd peed and been sick everywhere

(GSDs are the wussyest dogs I've ever know lol)

Got down to the neds this morning and Ronster was fine but my TB mare was spooky as hell.

I live in Lincoln and the house shook pretty violently for a good 10-15 seconds. Went out to check the horses and all the birds were out and singing, it was really bizarre!!

Got it big time here in Lincs.....OH away, I'd fallen asleep on the sofa, it really scared me, horrible spooky way to be woken up

Wasn't till it was mentioned on the telly that I realised what it was (I was thinking more along the lines of poltergeists & stuff
