does anyone use this and how do you manage? full muck out/deep litter etc?

I have also seen snowflake/laysoft do a cheaper version is it as good as easibed or is it a false economy?

I’ve used Laysoft for years now and get on fine with it. I did use Easibed some time ago but I seem to remember it being expensive. I skip out every day with gloves and a bucket and take out wet when it comes to the surface (every few days). It’s quite dense so you won’t have a nice fluffy bed but it you have one like mine who likes to kick his poo everywhere, it saves a lot of time searching for the poo.

I used Easibed for a number of years. I would skip out daily and take the wet out once a week. It was pretty dust free and did not move about too much. I swapped to chopped rape straw when my local feed merchant stopped supplying Easibed.

I found it easy to use.

I use non branded wood fibre bedding. Pretty much dust free and fairly cheap. I take out the wee nearly everyday. Saved me a fortune on my scruffy box walking little devil 😀

Rubber mats with a couple of bags of shavings on top take away wet parts once or twice a week depending on how long horse is in. I find this economical.

Thanks all for your replies that's really helpful!

Do you have big beds, I can see easibed recommend 6 inches deep. I do have rubber matts in my stable

Yes easibed is quite a bit more expensive so was hoping to use something a bit cheaper. Do you been the vouchers that are on the bale? I think they have stopped doing this

I really like it, I used Snowflake.

I now have Unibed after being recommended it on here because It does work out cheaper but is fairly similar to muck out.

Straw pellets on their own for the mare who is clean - I skip out and take out the wet areas when they come to the top which is never more than once per week. The other two have straw pellets mixed with shavings as I find this makes the shavings more absorbent and stops the bed being kicked around so much with messier horses.

my pony has easy bed, I find it very easy to work with, I take the pee and poo but don't disturb non soiled areas

I struggle with wood chip bedding.

I had a cob on easibed many years ago and it was incredible. I did a really deep bed and barely took any wet out adding a new bag every 2 weeks. I loved it.

I've since tried with other horses and it's been poor. It is not a very absorbent material and is very slow to absorb so if you have mats down fair chance it'll run between the cracks and pool or drain out of your stable - this happened with mine.

To me the perfect bed has a top layer that is non absorbent, drains easily and is fine enough for you to sieve the poop out but a lower layer that's very absorbent and stays put. I've tried to create this with sawdust on the bottom but my buggers just mix it in.

In terms of cost v quality, easibed is very uniform and practically dust free, snowflake chip is a bit dustier and fibre bed is less uniform and more duster.
