East mids based transport!!

An idea for anyone who has their own horsebox of 7.5 tonnes GVW or under and wants to give it a good long run ..... You can do this privately with all expenses covered and not come into commercial driving rules

I did not mention trailers because the towing vehicle is likely to get a long run

Rog - but what happens if something goes wrong? Hire and reward would not be covered under a normal insurance policy so they would be uninsured.

I own Equi Taxi www.equitaxi.co.uk for future reference, DEFRA approved, insured, BHS qualified staff, plus we also offer 3.5t self drive Horsebox hire.

Doing it in the way I said is not H&W - if it was then it would come under EU tacho regs etc

Normal insurance covers doing non commercial stuff

But surely no one would really transport for free? And there's still the question if anything goes wrong. Reputable transporters are covered for public liability including care, custody and control. A much safer option all round.

Reputable transporters are not allowed to advertise the fact that they have care custody and control insurance as it can void the policy. It's a last line of defence if something goes wrong.
