Today is taking FAAARRRR too long to pass by! Anyway, thursday afternoon at last, what are we all up to? Is there going to be another sodding beast from the east?!

We actually have not a lot planned over the weekend, some arena hire on Saturday probably, as our school is being taken over for a polework clinic so the whole place will be a flipping lorry park :rolleyes3:

I feel like I've failed by having 4 days off and not planning an actual outing but I don't think Salty is really ready for a bank holiday weekend show just yet so we will just do some hacking instead.

Then on Tuesday Kira will go and attempt our PSG debut :p Had a lesson yesterday and we agreed we should just go and have a bash, if nothing else it will throw up more clues about things that still need working on etc. And after all the stop-start with Millie I also don't believe in waiting for the "perfect" moment. eeek!

Have fun all, hope it's not a complete washout for everyone :)

Good luck MP - PSG debut, how exciting. You and Kira are such an inspiring partnership.

I don't get public holidays, so this is like a normal weekend for me. But I am going to dressage on Sunday - chance to practice P19 before the Petplans in May...

Hoping that the Beast stays away - and that the blue skies we have at the moment stay - fingers crossed.

Happy competing and Happy Easter everyone.

Oooh exciting, MP! Fingers crossed for you and Kira, I'm sure she'll be amazing - as she usually is :) can't wait to hear all about it!

Good luck with your test, too, MF.

I'm off to Merrist Wood on Saturday to be a demo rider for a Judges seminar. I'm quite looking forward to it, though I'm sure B won't want to give a good demonstration of dressaging!

No other plans so far, just some lovely roast lamb on Sunday which I've promised OH :)

Good luck & have fun to all others out and about.

Very exciting MP - massive good luck wishes

I'm not doing much. M is a little under the weather with some slightly swollen lymph nodes. Not sure if he got an infection or whether it's a new batch of hay so will lightly work him tonight and see how he is but doubt we will do too much over the next week or so

Good luck McFluff, Embo, and MP - Kira and PSG! Wow :).
I might have another sit on and stroll down the lane on Sunday depending on the weather. Photos keep popping up on Facebook of all the jumping we were doing 2 years ago which is making me feel a bit cr*p. I miss it! Apart from that I'll be marking first year coursework - 419 submissions to do in 2 weeks. Joys :p.

Have fun all!

No plans..,,,,everything fun has been cancelled due to the stupid **%!<%$’kv** weather!!!!

Might do an eventer challenge tomorrow, I’ve got 10 days off work starting tomorrow so hoping to fit lots of schooling/competing in :)

It actually looks like the weather is to be nice over the weekend (here in NI anyway) :)

We've had a bosy week so far....

Gridwork lesson for me and Fionn on Monday and I jumped 70cm fence on its own) which believe me is amazing for me......

Pony club on Tuesday for child and chestnut pony

Trip the Easter Camp venue with child and other new pony on Wednesday which went brilliantly after an initial 10 min where she just shook and boogled at everything. After that she was fantastic, we even did some XC. So glad we went.

As for this weekend, there is a lot on so depending on weather we might take child and pony to indoor SJ tomorrow night, and my pony XC schooling over the weekend at some point.

Easter camp starts next Wednesday :)

Happy Easter everyone, lets hope we all get good weather and enjoy our ponies :)

Sounds like lots of fun plans despite the weather! And wow MP - little Kira at PSG! I'm sure you'll do well, can't wait for the report :D

The saddler came today and I was delighted as for the first time, Indio didn't need anything adjusted. Normally one side needs re-flocking due to his wonkiness but it's been seven months and the saddle is still straight. Woohoo! Clearly the schooling is heading in the right direction.

No competing planned for us, although frustratingly I would have been able to get to Sparsholt on Sunday for the rearranged BD (postponed due to snow), but when they first announced the date I didn't think I could go so I asked for a refund. Ho hum!

Tomorrow I'm having a jump lesson on Pocholo then a lesson on Indio with a new trainer who is doing a clinic at the yard. Saturday a long afternoon hack, then probably schooling on Sunday. Monday I'm taking P to Wellington for arena eventing hire in prep for our ODE at Calmsden next weekend...if it runs!!

Exciting times Fiona - where did you do your gridwork lesson?

Would you believe I was able to hack to it, a lady just down the road has started to teach again now her littlies are a bit older :)

Hoping to get to Eric Peles over the weekend to do some XC :o

Fiona

Jealous! I was going to go to Eric Peles on Tuesday but unless M is 100% I won't be taking him out

Looks a great spot

Good luck MF and MP - can't wait to read the report MP :D

Sounds really exciting Fiona and Embo - yours are the weekends/weeks that I am most jealous of this week :p

Am waiting in eagerness to see some more jumping pics of P jiffy! Good news on indio's unwonkiness too

I was supposed to have a lesson but that is now cancelled so I'm just doing bit and bobs. Will try to sort an arena hire I think

Have fun everyone

MP and little Kira at PSG, such awesomeness!!!

I’m currently sipping vino at AMD here for a couple of days with Giant pony.

It's ridiculous! :p

I'm so jealous, being at AMD over easter is usually loads of fun, I have lots of memories of fun times doing easter egg hunts :D I must start an AMD course savings account!

How exciting MP - please do a report to let us know how you get on :)

We have a busy weekend ahead. Had a lesson with a different flat trainer who’s also a listed judge this afternoon to get a different perspective. Discovered that we *can* keep the bend in HP so will try to remember that tomorrow during my weekly lesson with my usual trainer.

Early start tomorrow as we’re heading to Muirmill for the Easter Extravangazna show. Have entered the smallest class with Henry as I haven’t ridden him away from home yet. Both him and Beau have been scrubbed to within an inch of their lives in preparation - Super Groom has her sights set on winning the turnout prize so we’ll be on the yard just after seven tomorrow morning to plait.

Then on Saturday we have RC team dressage. I’m not on until ten to three so i’ll bath Raz in the morning in between riding the others. Not sure if we’re in or out so will pop some instant calmer in the lorry just in case.

Good luck to everyone out competing. Hoping we’ll get enough photos to do a report as it’s been rather quiet in here recently.

We have a dressage clinic at the yard Sat which will be fun and then off out for a polework clinic on Monday which will be fun!

I think the most exciting part will be getting my husband on for his first ride! Hopefully Ed behaves 🙈

Whats up with your lovely boy?? :(

Fiona

He's got slightly swollen lymph nodes in his neck. He either picked up a wee infection on his travels or had a reaction to new hay.

Back on old hay and a weeks course of antibiotics and I'm seeing an improvement but still swollen since Sunday evening. I lunged tonight and he seemed ok so hopefully will be out and about soon

Mini hunter trial was cancelled so my plans have gone awry. Time with the family instead, so will be hacking and will try to fit in a jump school if the weather is ok.

Can I sneak in for some famous HHO vibes please?

M seems to have a thing about Easter weekend. Last year he threw a shoe on the Thursday whilst our farrier was at a stag do, cue ringing round like crazy before accepting he'd be getting the weekend off. This year he's taken it one step further and ended up with cellulitis in his LH.

Thankfully my amazing YO was on it immediately and by the time I'd finished work he'd been seen by the vet, had a bunch of heavy duty meds and to all intents was his usual mischievous self, nuzzling for treats and giving cuddles. Hopefully we got it early and the swelling will continue to go down over the weekend, but seriously seeing his leg like that was alarming and admittedly it sent me into a bit of a Poppy wobble. Needless to say our weekend will consist of walking in-hand and ice vibe boots whilst I continue to search for a horsebox.

Good luck to all of you out and about this weekend x

Once again, everyone seems to be having a more exciting weekend than I! BUT we were given the all clear by the vet to start Chills back into proper work this weekend. SO excited about that, even if it will seem a little boring compared to everyone else's plans. We've been doing loads of in hand work which I think she has found quite interesting. She's really learning to focus on me so will be doing more of that too and keeping it up alongside the 'normal' work, I reckon.

Trapper has had a makeover after a winter of becoming a mess and will be having a hearty leg wash this weekend!

Lots of vibes for M FF - cellulitis can come on so quick, thank goodness for your YO

Great news on Chills RO! And love the pics of trapper

Cute face, Trapper! :D

More vibes for M, FF, hope he is feeling better soon. Kira had a bout of cellulitis after a kick a few years ago, she felt quite sorry for herself but cheered up quite quickly as the swelling subsided. I've had it in my face, I know how horrible it is! :o Fingers crossed the speedy treatment will help hasten his recovery.

Thanks guys. I've fortunately never had a horse with it before so it was quite the surprise when I got to the yard and saw his elephant leg. We think he kicked himself overnight but there's not much in the way of damage so can't be sure what brought it on.

Sometimes it's just the most tiny scratch FF, don't over think it. I had no noticeable marks when I had it in my face (had it twice), Drs pored over me looking for where it could have got in but it must have just been bad luck and a tiny tiny scratch.
Kira had no open wound that we could see either. I found with her that once it started to go down the improvement was quite rapid and she seemed uncomfortable from the swelling rather than actually in pain IKSWIM (though it took 2 kinds of ABs to get on top of it).

Nothing this weekend but our Shagya stallion and his full sister will be jumping next weekend in Angers.

Stallion in a 1.20M class with Pro rider, his sister in 1.10 Grand Prix class with Amateur rider. Competing in France is complicated, all riders have to have a licence, three tiers, Club, Amateur and Pro. It makes life very complicated when bringing on talented youngsters. I ideally we would like the 'best' rider but if he can only jump big fences or equivalent to clear round, competitions are limited. Lots of Amateur riders and classes from 95cm to 1.30M but the rider may not have the experience we would like.

Currently we have three people who ride for us, Club, Amateur and Pro.

Hope everyone has a great Easter!

I did a 10 mile hack this morning - had great fun, if a little (!) wet. Horse & I have just about dried out now :D

Tomorrow will just be a quick lunge over poles in the morning, as we are visiting OH's family.

Sunday we are at my parent's for a roast, but should have time to hack before.

Monday I'm hoping to spend most of the day at the yard - hacking, primping my pony & sorting out his stuff - as OH is out all day playing sports himself.
