OK its late enough - what's the answer???? I Googled South American Tree Mouse and read whatever I could but found zilcho connection. Actually there wasn't really much info but then I didn't have that much time to trawl the internet, should have been working!
Come on out with it.......Please put us (well me) out of my misery!

Q1 - they are the only mammals in the world to have guttural pouches.

Q2 - God knows why. They don't serve any use that my vets know of except that they can get infected and cause a catastrophic bleed.
