Did my first Novice BE last September at South of England. We have done a few PN before that and seemed like a good one to start with for our first Novice. The SJ is our downfall and I knew the arena there is lovely, although lots of people were saying it was well upto height. Will be doing a PN at the beginning of next season just to get our eye in again but does anyone have an opinion on Novices that are less harsh than others at the beginning of the season? Should I try and do a PN in March- Stilemans maybe? Or should I wait and do the PN at South of England again and then try Nurstead court as a first Novice? Also Borde Hill in May- is that OK? Sorry to ask so many questions but I would have never thought we could do Novice so I never took much notice of the courses!!

I walked the Novice course at Goring Heath and didnt think that was too bad, not sure if thats too far for you though??? Its just north of Reading. I think its scheduled for 29th March 2008. Its a shame that Munstead dont do a Novice as that would be a great easy novice!

Portman is a really nice early novice run - the course is very straight forward - not much harder than a 'tough' PN - its in dorset near salisbury if thats not too far from u
