My gelding has been diagnosed with arthritic changes in his hocks, he's undergoing a bute trial and is on devils claw. He has been barefoot for a few years, and wears Old Macs G2's in front, and goes bare behind, but I've been advised that using boots behind (Epics will fit) and comfort pads may help him (in front and behind) - he occasionally drags a back toe.
Anyone have any opinions/been through this before? He's very happy barefoot in the field, and it's only recently that he's left a toe behind. He's 18, so I',m hoping for a few years of gentle hacking still ahead of us.
