Has anyone got or tried one of these saddles?

My cob has some mild back problems due to changing shape and putting on a bit of weight. We are working on the weight issue but the saddle issue is a bit more difficult. He had a problem with a poor fitting saddle 2 years ago and after numerous attempts to find a saddle that fitted we ended up with a wintec wide. Not a perfect fit but not too far off. He now has some back/shoulder discomfort and I feel I need a different saddle.

My cob is nearly 20 and money is a little tight at the moment so was having a browse on eBay and came across the Easytrek treeless. My husband has kindly said he will buy me the saddle but I know nothing about treeless saddles and he will kill me if I buy it and its still not right.

Does anyone have any views or thoughts on this saddle please?
 
Not really a fan of Easytrek.

I picked one up dirt cheap out of interest and I wouldn't put it on a horse.

If you need very cheap but safe - look at Libra saddles.
 
my sister bought one of the 'flexi' pommel ones and flexi is the last thing I'd call it, I use the other one they have tho, classis or something I think and it's ok. My mare seems comfortable in it but they wouldn't be suitable for something with much in the way of withers.
 
Oh dear, I'm looking at a Comfort 2012 and until I saw this (came up in Google search) I only saw good reviews!!

Oberon, is it possible you have a fake? Apparently they were victims of a massive copying scam and the fake ones were finished with glue, with the branding in the wrong place. IIRC, the correct ones have the Easytrek logo over the girth straps or something.

OP, if you get one, buy direct. They're cheaper than on ebay!!
 
Well I bought one to try......serious mistake! Liked the look of it but when I tried it on him it sat so low, pressumably due to the flexi pommel? that it was putting pressure on his withers. He was not happy being ridden in it so it was sent back. Have to say that Easytrek were brilliant, gave me a refund straight away and no problems with customer service. Unfortunately, my cob was one of the few horses that these saddles dont fit.

I have since had a saddle fitter out who says that the wintec wide is the best saddle for him fit wise as he is a typical flat backed, barrel-bellied cob but with withers! so I am going to have to fork out for a new Wintec.
 
A friend of mine tried one of these a few weeks back, I can honestly say I have never seen such poor quality leather and stitching, the leather was cheap and like cardboard, it honestly looked like it wouldn't last a week without falling apart. She sent it right back and they did a full refund without any hassle...
 
I've started looking at the Heather Moffett FlexEE treed saddle - it's a leather tree so provides a bit more support whilst staying flexible and moving/changing with the horse
