My horse loves a varied diet and will eat thistles (the whole plant), cow parsley, leaves off various bushes in the hedges and also oak tree leaves.

I have always trusted him not to eat anything that will harm him or taste bad but I have read that the leaves from oak trees can cause problems if too many are consumed. Is this right?

He does not have oak trees in his field but we walk past some on the way in to/out of the yard. It's only a handful that he is getting but I wonder how much is too much.
