You would think that people wanting to sell their pretty expensive dressage saddle would email me back to answer my question

I emailed them 5 days ago ! ! ! !

There is a problem with ebay messages, I'm selling a few things atm, it tells me there is a message there but am unable to retrieve them. A message comes up saying service unavailable.

oooooh okay
Thankyou very much
grin.gif

I've messaged a few people though and some people have replied ?

Hopefully the will relist the saddle

Did you hide your email address?

If so we tend not to reply, as we use outlook not the stupid eBay system where you cannot use certain characters and there is no spell check!!

Yep, the Ebay message system is slightly f*cked at the moment

I've bought two saddles on Ebay - one was a jumping saddle for Castle and the other was a Lovatt & Ricketts dressage saddle for Ali which I bought a couple of months ago and I LOVE it! They were both bargains, and I asked for all the measurements etc. before I bought them. I got both of them fitted by a professional saddle fitter as soon as they arrived and I was very lucky that they did fit! If it's a decent saddle with a good name it should be easy enough to sell on if it doesn't fit

Also, have a look at www.saddlesdirect.co.uk

On the flip side I have sold a saddle (was a pressie and never fitted - far too small). Was dead honest about it and basically the people who bought it changed their mind. Fair enough - it's got to be right for their horse. Took it back and refunded everything (inc initial postage) and left them glowing feedback.

I got a neg and slated for my trouble!!!!

[/ QUOTE ]What! Some people are far too quick with negative feedback.
That's rotten.

I've bought and sold saddles on ebay, and never had a problem. When selling, I put on loads of pics and try to tell everything I can about it, as the last thing I need is an unhappy buyer!

I wouldn't be happy buying a saddle which didn't have lots of information listed.

Thats the problem , I politely mailed the seller to see if I could see a photo of the real Bates Capprilli as they were using a black stock photo ...
But really I think putting stock photos should be banned tbh ...

i have a 17.5" mw albion dressage saddle for sale ( see below ) if thats any good , just upgraded my horse to a wide & numpty me never considered asking if they would px it against my new one!! can supply a pic if of interest

I have bought a couple off ebay, and have also sold one.

The first dressage saddle did not fit (must put that back on
blush.gif
) but I bought a practically brand new Ideal Jessica for £360! Saddler said I had got a real bargain as although the design showed it was 5 years old, it had very low mileage and had been hardly used

Lucky You !!
I'm desperate as saddle fitter cant come out for 2 weeks and Sol has a dressage comp in a week and she can't go in in her forward cut close contact jumping saddle

And the saddle she usually shares is being used
crazy.gif

So need something that will fit ok (yes I know naughty naughty not having it fitted first) for 4 minutes then will be taken off and left till saddle fitter can sort it for me
blush.gif

Damn I should be organised !!

It is luck of the draw with Ebay. I bought a pair of Westropp knee/brushing boots - got them dead cheap. They turned up & it was 2 right boots!!!

Couldn't be arsed sending them back for £3.99 - they're still in the loft somewhere.

ISH, I have a Bates Caprilli dressage saddle that I no longer use. I have been keeping it, thinking I may one day use it, but would be happy to sell it. Its a 17.5 inch, black in good condition, but would want a saddler to check it out before I sold it, only because where it has sat on my saddle rack for so long, it developed a despression underneath. Huw Thomas sold it to me 5yrs ago, so I'm sure he would look at it for me, if I dropped it in. I think I have the MW gullet in it at the mo. PM me if you're interested

No reason why you can't do dressage in a jumping saddle.
Our pony does Novice BE dressage in a floward cut close contact Albion. It has never been commenred on.

I've just sold my WOW saddle on e-bay and had lots of questions from people and I tried to get back to people quickly.
smile.gif
Having said that some messages from e-bay seem more diffcult to retrieve than others
confused.gif

Maybe there's a problem?

ISH your PM's are full .... so I have posted my reply to you here
smile.gif

No problems, thats not being cheeky at all
grin.gif
I'm at work at the mo tho, so wont be able to send you any piccies until I get home. Do you have an email address or being a bit thick here, maybe I can PM them to you?
I'll ring Huw now and ask if I can drop it in for him to have a look at, cos if you dont have it, I might as well leave it there for him to sell for me. I'll let you know what he says.

Correct dress is an English type saddle of pretty much any description. OK you make lose a mark on riders position because your leg may not be quite so down and long but if the horse goes well then who cares? I don't.

I have a Baines Elegance 18 M/W with doe skin seat and knees that isn't really doing much if you're interested? It's black and totally immaculate.
