So I'm currently selling a bridle that I no longer need on eBay. Brand new it retails at over £100 but as I bought it from eBay I've put it on as a buy it now for the same price I paid.

This morning I received a message asking if I'd ship to Iceland. Having had a few bad experience with international shipping I apologised and explained that I only ship within the UK.

I've since had two further messages pretty much begging me to sell the bridle to them as it's not something they can buy in Iceland (it's a Micklem bridle) and they really want one for their mare. The buyer has 100% feedback from almost 500 transactions and has said via eBay that they wouldn't hold me accountable if the bridle doesn't arrive (though not sure who eBay would side with if the were an issue)

So.... WWYD?

With that many transactions and 100% feedback personally I'd trust them. Have you looked online to see if mickelm bridles are available there to see if it adds up?

I would probably let them buy it - check the cost of the postage first and let them know what it will be so you are not out of pocket - you can send them an amended invoice after they have purchased.
On the other side of the coin, I sent a rug to Latvia (!) which was never delivered and actually came back to me, so I have refunded the buyer including the £40 postage they paid (which I wont get back) :(
A bridle to Iceland should be a lot more straightforward..

I'm "international" (-ish) and often buy stuff from ebay; why not wait until payment arrives and clears then send?

I would let them buy it but subject to a higher postage charge that is for a tracked service

I'd end the auction and add a private auction for them with the P&P on there so it's all noted that it's a tracked service etc

Thanks all! I've said I'll look into postage on Monday and if agreeable I'll send via a tracked service so hopefully there'll be no hiccups.

Im in Spain, and have bought and sold on ebay, as long as the postage is covered and its sent recorded I cant see the problem, I get quite pee'd off when people wont send things here, especially when I offer to pay the postage..

I've sold all over the world & I don't know why you are worrying about doing it. As long as they pay for the item plus the postage (Recorded signed for) & the money has arrived into your account prior to posting then I don't see any problem.
