Ebay - Buyer claiming broken tree - advice please

I had a similar issue except my buyer claimed the saddle had been adjusted & was not the width stamped. I was sure it was true width. She also opened the claim as 'Not Received'. I asked her for proof from a registered saddler that it had been adjusted, and would have refunded if found to have been. She came back claiming 2 saddlers & a retailer of said make of saddle claimed it had been. Yet could not provide name or contact number.
Chancer. Quite clearly it didn't fit. As she opened the disputed under did not receive I called up eBay, explained the situation & sent them proof that it was received & they closed the case in my favour.

Thanks. I am hoping I will be able to get a positive result. My buyer has gone quiet since yesterday morning despite me sending several messages stating my saddler had examined the saddle when it was tried on my youngster and it had been untouched since. I have aso requested photographs of the saddle and packaging and contact details for her saddler if the saddle is found to have a broken tree. Saddler is apparently there on Thursday.

Oh I see! She's in Bucks, so probably too far :( That would have been great if she's been your way. Thanks.

Whereabouts in Bucks? There is one saddler in the area who was well known for saying that a saddle had a broken tree.

Apparently saddler hasn't seen the saddle yet. Buyer is saying tree is broken because both shoulders of the saddle move. Never heard that one before.

Definitely sounds like a mickey taker - fingers crossed it will resolve in your favour! I have to say the threads on here have definitely put me off selling anything of value on ebay.

No help to you now, but I video mine being packaged.
Also, check buyers feedback as she maybe a serial offender but you can't leave negatives for buyers, and ring ebay.
I have found them very helpful with things in the past.
I'm in Bucks too, if you want to pm me any details.
There are some grim saddle fitters about, here, too.

Thanks, I rang eBay this afternoon and they were very helpful saying that they would close the item didn't arrive case and put the buyer on observation. It doesn't stop her opening another case saying item is not as described. Advised me to request the evidence again today and tomorrow too as I have a deadline of 7 days to be able to claim against the courier. No response again from buyer.

Thank you. That is very kind of you. Hopefully this will be an end to it but won't hold my breath!

You can't leave negative feedback, but you can leave a hint in your positive feedback, e.g. 'so sorry you did not receive your item, full refund given' (this was the only item out of 5 which I hadn't sent by tracked post; buyer claimed not received, hmmm) - if several of these appear, it *will* look suspicious.

Or I wonder if, in the case of budatiger above, you could get away with writing something like 'so sorry your item was not received and I could not offer refund as courier had proof of delivery'...
