Am I missing something here!!

I advertised my dads fold up bicycle on Ebay local pickup only and I live in GL2 and the buyer lives in Brighton doesnt drive and wants to come by train to collect ????? Isnt it going to cost her a small fortune??

Some buyers are odd...we sold a second hand gas cookerm the buyers drove from Birmingham to North Shrops to pick it up and were then going to drive it to their summer house in the south of France!!!!!

I wouldn't worry about it - its her time and money - but you can't help but think MUPPET!!!!

I emaild her and suggested she research the price of her train ticket as I think she will have a shock I have a sneaking suspicion she is an Ebay Virgin and I would rather resell it than let her be a bit of a dope!

hehe we once sold a bit of woodburner pipe on ebay, I was willing to post it for a fiver and it sold for £2.71 was worth about £45.
The guy who bought it sent his elderly father (as he had a pensioners bus pass) about 50 miles to collect it to save him £5, I was gob smacked at that one!

Maybe she works on trains or something??!!

Well I've just been messed about by someone who bid on something that was collect only - they were hundreds of miles away too.

She took a week to respond to my invoice and chaser and emails, and just left a brief email that she would pay at the end of the week and call me at the weekend.

Needless to say she didn't and next thing I know, her eBay user name says 'this person is no longer registered with eBay'

Grhhhhhh - why do people bother?

Maybe she has friends/family in the area? I have bought collection only items on eBay before that were far from local, but tied in nicely with a visit to family
