Ebay fees for costly items.

Sorry if this has been on before, i have done a search but didnt come across it in the first few pages....

Does anyone have any idea how much ebay charge when you sell large items, ie trailer, which might sell for two and a half to three thousand.

I recently sold a saddle on ebay for 350 and was shocked at being charged almost thirty pounds for the pleasure, and if i sell my trailer there i don't want to pay almost ten percent commission!

hope im not breaking any rules, please advise if i am so i can remove.

Yep, i got charged about the same, and even more when it sells:( The only thing you can do to try save a bit is not accept paypal, either choose cash on collection, or cheque etc, but ebay are making it harder to do this aswell
 
If you go into your ebay account it will list the percentages they take in commision for selling your items. As a rule you can expect that by the time insertion fees & final fee have been added together it will be around 10% of your selling price.
As has been said, if you accept payment by Paypal then you will have to pay a fee for that on top of the other fees. Sort out another method of payment & you will save yourself money. Paypal may be easier for a buyer but it actually costs the seller to allow that method of payment.
