I purchased a beautiful pair of childerns jodhpur boots for my 4 year old niece as part of her birthday present, However when the arrived they are the wrong size and not the size advertised, I contacted the seller who applogised and agreed to accept a return and refund me, how ever she then disputed my reason for wanting a return (she is a private seller not trade), and has since continued to ignore me, I have just opened a case with Ebay and luckliy I payed through Paypal, so hopefully I can get my money back, Have any of you been in this situation and how did it turn out?

Unfortunately this is the frustrating side of ebay, when there are any problems you just want to speak to someone and can't. Paypal might be a little different because I did actually speak to a person when I was having a problem with my account. So you might be lucky.

I always watch who I buy from now and don't tend to buy off private sellers

Hooligan, you'll probably find that ebay will end up refunding you as they tend to come down on the side of the seller in this type of dispute? I assume you contacted the seller via ebay afterwards and that she agreed the refund via the same messages? If so, this will be on record. Don't worry - it may take a little whilte but you can be pretty certain that you'll get your money back!
