I'm most worried about forking out up front for the courier, TBH. Even if she does pay, PayPal will hold the money until positive feedback. I will send recorded and insured, that's for certain.

Thing is, I really need the money:(

You cannot do a second chance offer as you have not sorted it out with original bidder.That winner of your item can open a dispute,saying your refusing to sell the saddle to her and then ebay will come down on you.
Paypal do NOT hold funds,you can do a instant withdrawral which is £5.00 and money is in bank account usually within 48 hours. Your treading on thin ice.
Also if I was you,id send a request to original buyer to cancel transaction but if they refuse your going to have problems. I do a lot on ebay and you can have your account restricted for several reasons.
 
Well, the listing clearly stated post to UK only, how she managed to bid on it I don't know.
I have contacted her 3 times without any response whatsoever.
I've send SCO with no trouble at all, I couldn't, however, send an invoice to the highest bidder. Is it worth mentioning that they have bid over the odds for the saddle?
PayPal DOES hold on to your money for some items, until positive feedback is left or 21 after transaction.
TBH, I'd rather have a negative feedback I can respond to than be out of pocket and without the saddle.

If you can't invoice them, they can't pay you, you will need to request to cancel the transaction with the original buyer throught the ebay resolution centre, stating that you only post to the uk. Hope this helps.

You can pay without invoicing, that I know for sure.
One useful thing I got from the Ebay help chat was that I don't need to send invoice to the original buyer in order to do a SCO.

They do hold funds if you have less than 100 feebacks as a seller... they are held until you get positive feedback or released after 21days which ever comes first which tbh is a right pain in the rear and the main reason I stopped selling!
If you put that it was only UK sale then they are in teh wrong surely for bidding on an item that stated you wouldnt send.

Hmmmm Payapl have NEVER held my money.I always take it out same day recieved. (last week).

Go into preferences,theres a list of countries you want to ship to,chick on each link and put a mark next to the ones you will NOT ship to.Exampole,I wont ship to Italy,but rest of europe I will. I wont ship to china,or other countries there nor chec republic. Hope you can sort the list out. If not pm me and i'll help you.

They can only pay if they're in the uk as you've only quoted uk postage, if they're abroad you have to invoice them with the correct postage.
 
I've requested to cancell the transaction through Ebay Resolution Centre - the buyer has not responded to any of my messages.
In the meantime, the underbidder has accepted the SCO and has paid immediately:) So I will post to them.
At worst with the case I will be FVF down, which I can live with, TBH. :o

Is it only if less than 100 feedback? If so, it doesn't matter anyway:)
 
I had a similar issue and emailed ebay straight away quoting concerns that this may not be a legitimate buyer due to having registered today and being from foreign country.
Ebay were very helpful (can't remember all details) but turns out was a scam and ebay allowed me to then offer my item to second highest.

hope you get this sorted.

she's right.... eBay withold money for certain things... saddles being one of them. the buyer pays, but the money doesn't get transferred to the seller's paypal until they have received positive feedback, or 21 days has passed (whichever is sooner).

it's a pain, esp when you rely on the money for the postage - and it's the reason i have given up selling saddles on eBay! but i guess it's there to protect buyers. x

Trouble is with this is that she'd have to give a stranger her bank details, there is NO WAY I would do that, thats what paypal is for so they don't get to see your personal infomation. and ebay says you should beware of people asking to complete the transaction outside of ebay. I'd be VERY careful.

If you get neg feedback, you can respond to it and explain if others check

The details you give to get a bank transfer are less informative than those you hand out when you write out a cheque. Think, a cheque also carries your signature! Getting paid by BT is less risky for the seller than PayPal as the buyer can't do a chargeback. Getting paid by BT is NOT completing a transaction out of ebay, if it was then paying by cash or cheque would be completing a transaction outside of ebay.

I sold a saddle,it went to southern ireland and I took my money out of paypal same day.I have over 200 feedback tho.
