Ebay Item 130870892873

I'm quite worried about the gate the saddle is on. It looks underweight to me, definitely condition score one or two at best. really quite skinny, the saddle doesnt look the right size for it at all.

Agree with you. Thin as a rail. Looks to have some kind of rain induced irritation as well. Putting a saddle on it in this condition is just the worst thing I've seen on eBay all five bar none.

I know the OP, so I thought I'd jump in there whilst she is not online just so her character doesn't end up fully in the gutter, as many of these threads do, whether I know them all or not!

:p

Ah I see, I wasn't having a go at her, was just a general pondering! I know first hand what it's like to have your 'username' on here end up in the gutter, I ended up making a new account on here to get away from the bullies, so I honestly wasn't being mean!

I think we figured that :) So as you're being her champion can you tell us why she may be concerned about this hairy pony? Or does she personally know this hairy pony and it has some hidden ailment that us mere forumers are not aware of?

The reason I jumped in when I did, was because these threads have a habit of going downhill fast. Someone makes a comment then others decide that the OP must be some 'fiend in human form' because of a difference in opinion. I wouldn't have commented at all if the OP's 'character' weren't being pulled into question.

Myself? I think it looks a little scruffy and there are a few marks on the coat that might well be random muck, or they might not.

Do you stand by when friends are starting to be picked apart by random strangers? I don't, and won't start now.

The OP has a genuine concern, if others agree then fine, but leave the personal comments out of it. THAT'S what gets my goat.....

Understand that DragonSlayer, but it gets me that people start threads picking on random adverts and crticising the animals therein or making innuendo that there is something amiss. These threads are on here weekly - analysing FB pics, Dragon Diriving is another regular favourite. These adverts maybe in the public domain but they are not asking for a critque.

Maybe a thought should be spared for the real people being examined on here by a bunch of folk behind computer screens. They are the ones I feel for - they have no voice!

I agree. I'm sure people were as keen to defend a horse owner who didn't think to groom before taking pics of their horse who is suddenly pulled up on their care of it

To be honest Dragonslayer if a friend of mine made an insinuation about a horse that looked fine to me, I would say nothing. If everyone else (as has happened on this thread) felt the same as me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the horse that a good grooming wouldn't sort out, then I'd probably not ever open the thread again for fear that my friend had lost her marbles.

I do however agree there isn't any need to write out any personal comments, but ... I admit to thinking in a similar vein to Y&C

Hahaha! Well, my marbles went long ago so maybe that's why I did!

...and yes, it's the personal comments. BUT I know, it's the public domain, it's to be expected! I'll go rattle my marble-filled head elsewhere....

Indeed, and I too understand what you are saying.

I think I'm a rubbish friend though as I have a friend (who is sooo lovely) but is newish to horse breeding and she is forever posting (what I see as) really silly breeding things on FB. Now I see the replies she gets from non-horsey people and they are all nice cutesy comments but none of us others (her breeding friends) would dare to comment on her posts as it's so clear that they are the musings of someone who does not have a clue about breeding. Bless her, she tries to use technical terms and even just the way she uses those terms show that she doesn't have any understanding of what she's talking about. I cringe :o and quickly sweep over them. She has asked me privately in the past about this and that and as on here, I'm very happy to give her the benefit of my experience, but then the following day I'll see some more twaddle posted and my heart sinks as I realise she didn't learn anything. Sorry, just my musings :D I'm sure OP is lovely too and maybe she does know something worrying about the hairy pony that we don't know about.
