Ok, I'm selling a saddle on eBay having never even bought anything from there never mind selling (I'm an amazon girl). So I finally got it listed about a week ago after only a couple of hours ( ) and had my first bid today! (Dot get excited... They bid 1p.. Good job I put a reserve on) but then I kept getting bids through from the same person... I have 4 in total from 1 bidder but they have bid the same amount each time... So I don't get why?

I'm no expert but I think this happens when they change their maximum bid.

For example they bid 10p, then think oh that's daft and go in and bid £5, then think that's daft too so up it to £10 then have a really good think and settle on a final forth bid of £50. But as nobody else has bid the current highest bid is still 1p, if someone else bids then ebay will automatically increase the highest bid based on your first bidders forth bid. So if the second bidder puts in £25 (based on my eg above) then the first bidder will still be in the lead with a visable price to you of £26.

I think it means they have bid more money, possibly trying to see if they hit the reserve, but you can't up-bid yourself so it would remain at the original bid. However if someone else bids their most recent, and highest bid, will come into play then.

may be the bidder's just trying to keep increasing his/her maximum bid amount. due to the fact that no body else is bidding, his/her bid remains the only bid...
hope this helps

I believe it will also mean they have not bid as much as (or over) the reserve you have set. If the bid the same as, or more than your reserve, I think the current bid will go up to that reserve price.
