eBay pros? I'm useless...

There is a saddle on eBay I am interested in. It's not an auction but a buy it now with a make an offer bit. I sent my offer and then received a counter offer.

My question is does their counter offer mean that is their lowest price? Would it be "the done thing" to go back with another offer, more than my first but less than their counter offer? (I don't want to pay their counter offer)

Sorry for the total numpty question! I'm an eBay novice. Actually... Total beginner!
