I 'won' a sprenger kk bit for £21 plus postage back in April, waited a week but didnt receive anything so emailed seller. She apologised and said her daughter had measured them (sold 2) and it was listed incorrectly so offered me a refund but said I was to ask for it back via paypal. Ive not done this brfore but did as she asked. Week later no refund so emailed her again and requested the money via paypal again, she then asked for my address and said she would send me a cheque. To cut a long story short, this tooing and froing has been going on since April until mid may when she stopped replying to my emails. I held back leaving negative feedback as I honestly thought she would refund me but last night Id had enough and tried to leave feedback, well the listings too old now and it wont let me. I have contacted ebay who sent me a computer generated reply saying the listing is over 45 days old and that I had to try contacting her.:mad: Like I havent. It did give me a way of getting her number though, Ive not tried it yet but wondered has anyone else ended up ringing a seller. Should I just learn from this and forget about it now?? Just makes me mad as she has 100% feedback and if I hadnt been strung along with promises I would have done something sooner.

I lost over £100 on jump poles, and I wasnt alone. Didnt realise about the 45 days so went for 30 day delivery as much cheaper. By the time I gave up on seller it was too late for Paypal claim and credit card wont pay out on paypal as they say you are contracting with paypal not the seller and paypal have done their service.....dodgy I reckon as it gets your protection down from 6 years via credit card to 45 days with paypal....beware everyone to be on your guard for this fact!

I still buy from eBay but wont pay for anything big sight unseen or via paypal....

I did manage to get a phone no for the guy before the ebay shop was pulled but he fobbed me off and of course the phone line then unobtainable (it was a land line)......Couldnt leave feedback as his account was closed down.

On the other hand I have bought lots of good stuff and peeps generally very good, have bought a landrover and a tractor! (but then I guess we paid for those in person.....)

Hi, open a claim on Ebay and also peruse though Paypal. They were really helpful in my claim and i got my money back.
I would deffo contact the seller again via email and then phone if no joy.
Paypal may ask to see your email correspondence to make sure you've done everything you can to resolve between you so make sure you have as many emails as possible.
Ebay is a great place to get bargains and sell your unwanted stuff... 99% are good, honest Ebayers so i hope this doesn't put you off from using Ebay.
Good luck :)

Thanks for taking the time to read my long ramble:)
Ive never really had a problem before and have bought and sold for years now. I suppose Im just too trusting. I did try a few years ago to claim for a rug that was def not as listed but it cost £15 to do that, so for £21 its probably not worth the hassle and I think Im well over the deadline now..
I think Im just mad that I cant leave neg feedback, so she gets away with it scot free, this person seems to be a private seller and has sold a saddle since with positive feedback.
Well to make me feel better am I allowed to name and shame on here, its not like its her real name???

You should persue paypal, but you can RING ebay- 08003583229, they were very helpful when I had a problem recently and spoke to them.
A while ago, I also had a problem with paypal, which they refused to sort. So, I trawled through the internet, and found the names and emails of EVERY single director, and bombarded each one with my complaint. Not all replied, but a couple took the trouble to get back to me, and my problem got resolved- in my favour!
Don't give up!
Good luck!

open a dispute with ebay, it may work, may not i used to buy lots of stuff oof ebay for horse not so much now , find cheaper going to local tack shops no postage to pay and ideal if you need to change sizes - i have lots of stuff i bought off ebay wrong size and not worth returning !

Thanks everyone.
Ive just rang Ebay and its too late for them to do anything. I explained it wasnt the money but the fact I was mad she will just get away with it. They suggested Paypal but I think Im over the time with them too. Its a lesson learnt though and Ebay did say they would send her a warning, so even though I came out the loser I feel better that they know about her.

Don;t talk to me about ebay! - I am going through a process with a buyer who has broken the item I sold and now wants his money back .. I have tried being helpful and am even taking it up with Royal Mail, bt guess what - he has now started to harrass me by sending me un-called for messages that are very rude and insulting.
Leaning a lesson - ebay isn't worth it! Grrr

you do always get badduns lurking on ebay. Hubby sold a watch that was "perfect" from her feedback, but when she gave it to hubby, he obviously didn't like it, so suddenly it "didn't work". Full paypal dispute, the lot. We ended up refunding £10 tho, not the £300 she tried us for. Could have been a lot worse.

On the other hand, I use ebay all the time, but I only buy from 99 - 100 % ers if that makes sense. Only yesterday, hubs was complaining about the number of times "paypal" was mentioned on our bank statement ! sm x

I cant, its too late :(. Got to be done within 45 days. I left it so long as she was replying to my emails, asking for my address to send a refund to etc etc, then it all stopped, no replys. She has 100% feedback so I didnt suspect a thing.

I reckon she knew exactly what she was doing! dragging it out beyond the 45 day limit for opening an claim. Thats why if you ever have a problem, give it one week and if you are not satisfied with the outcome, then open a case, then you can get your money back. I have never had a problem with e-bay regarding getting money back for non delivered items. I love ebay, many a bargain to be had, but you have to be careful as there are many toss pots waiting to rip you off!

OK there's no point telling you what you should have done now

For what its worth, as a selling we get a worse battering via PayPal!

Say to you credit card company you didn't get the goods and want them to chase (you never know and they are supposed to act on your behalf)

Then email the seller and tell her you are reporting her to the police for fraud (which you should) and likely to take her to small claims court unless you get a refund within a set time period

I havent had chance to read the replies sorry...

But i once called a seller after i was messed about in a similar way.... they absoulty sounded horrified and like they had pooped their pants that i had got their phone number!!! I was polite and so were they... (prob due to their shock) they gave me a silly excuse why they hadnt refunded me/sent me the item, they refunded me that night though.
So definatley give it a go!

Shame they couldn;t help you, but at least you got hold of ebay. Try paypal, and if you have to, resort to the drastic measures I took with the directors- see earlier post!
Good luck.

She is too late to open a Paypal dispute. I think now all you can do is get her details and ring her (or turn up on her doorstep!).
To be fair, if you'd opened a dispute within the time limit, you would have got a full refund. A hard way to learn that though.
