Just bought a kk aurigan lozenge snaffle bit on ebay, recieved bit today and its not even the same bloomin bit advertised on the advert grrrrrrrr.
Just wanted to vent, havent done much ebaying and before today but so far it has been great. emailed the seller saying i would post back after she refunds me is that the right thing to do?
Never seen bit like it, it has aurigan mouth piece with lozenge, the ends of which are like an eggbutt then the rings have loops. You can turn it into a gag if needed, paperwork describes it as a type 3 trense bit, all in german so can't understand! def not the bit I thought i was getting -very peeved!

I once bought a "jeffries" bridle which turned out to be GFS!!!! Had a winge at the seller who just BI**HED back at me. Then I raised a dispute and that got it sorted. The sent me a cheque refund - once it cleared I sent the bridle back by recorded delivery - just so they couldnt say that they hadn't had it back

Think I will be doing the same i expect, maybe twas a simple mistake, but item couldnt be more sifferent from what i ordered! Ah well thats £25 down the drain....

it could very well be a simple mistake and given a chance most will rectify. there are two extrememly good bit sellers who have perfect feedback (or did last time I looked), one in particular sells dozens every week and so you can understand if she sent out wrong one, but on the very rare occasion she does she will replace with originally intended bit at no cost to you. Best thing is to always check feedback. Under 90% and I wouldn't buy from them without very good reason.

Not necessarily down the drain. Is the seller's feedback good? If so it's probably a genuine mistake, and they will want to keep a good feedback record so will probably refund if you keep it amicable.

If you've bought from one of ebay's less reputable sellers, you have better protection if you paid with Paypal, as you can do a chargeback on items that are not as described, and Paypal usually comes down in favour of the buyer.

There is also ebay's dispute process. Initiating it can often get some co-operation from a difficult seller. In the worse case scenario, you can claim what you paid back, less the first £15, but it's a bit of a lengthy process.

The feedback you leave will help other buyers decide whether to trade with that seller. Be fair if you get refunded with good grace, and leave feedback based on the service you get if it was a genuine mistake.

Paid with paypal and seller had 99.6% positive so hopefully will be resolved, just bit frustrating. thanks for your woulds of wisdom everyone! k

Usually most are nice on Ebay so its probably a mistake. Point it out to the seller nicely and see what they say. If they get bitchy then you can make a claim through Ebay (I have done this once when an item never arrived even though they said they had proof they sent it, they weirdly could not prove to ebay they did when the claim was presented to them.....). Ebay usually work in the buyers favour.
