Soooo.... just over a week ago (in fact last weds), I won a saddle on eBay. Bear in mind that finding this saddle has been like sniffing out the Holy Grail, only more difficult  Eighteen inch flocked version of the Wintec Isabell.

Now, the listing only had a stock photo of the saddle, so I messaged the seller before the end of the auction asking them to confirm condition good, stitching and tree sound etc. They replied within an hour to confirm that was the case. She said she'd had camera problems and was going to put photos up that night, but she didn't. Anyway, since I didn't actually care about physical appearance of the saddle, as long as it was safe, I wasn't too fussed, and won it for a reasonable price.

Immediately after winning the auction, I messaged the seller to confirm I would pay by paypal the next day, which I did. No reply.

A day or so later, I noticed that the postage option on the item was royal mail standard parcel - so I got back in touch with the seller asking if I paid the extra, could it please be sent recorded. Again, no reply.

Finally, I sent a message yesterday asking what was going on, as I am having the saddle delivered to the yard and need to give my YO an idea of when it might turn up. No response.

Now, this seller has 100% positive feedback (score of 57) and has sold saddles successfully before, according to the comments. Comments also mentioned speedy dispatch.

Should I be worried? Have I been had? I've been trying to track down this saddle for soooo long, I am going to be bloody disappointed if I have to go through a massive rigmarole with paypal to get my money back. I haven't sold much on eBay myself, but I always make sure I stay in touch with buyers... :(

I would not panic just yet, even though i would be thinking about it, there could be many reasons why you have had no reply, internet probs (we all have them) family probs illness.
I would at least give them till monday then send another message that if you do not hear from them you will be opening a dispute with ebay.
Just a note they cannot get at your money till you leave feedback that it is received or after 30 days something like that not completely sure

I would send the seller a message saying that they need to reply your youll open a item not recieved case that way if you dont recieve paypal will reimburse what you have paid and chase the seller.

E-bay have changed the way they deal with this type of case, you should wait until the period given for the postage, add a couple of days just in case, then contact your local royal mail dispatch office, the seller should also have a royal mail tracking number you can use on line. If the saddle is not there, you can immediatley open a "not received case" detailing all the communication you've had with the seller. They then have 10 days to respond. If in this time they havent replied, and you're item hasnt turned up, you can then escalate the complaint to e-bay, who make an instant decision to re-emburse/or not depending on the correspondance

Has the item been marked as dispatched? If it has hover over it and you will see the date it was posted. if not start an item not received claim, that often prompts an immediates response from seller!! I think a week is enough time to wait with no contact and the sooner you start action the sooner you get your money back or hopefully your item.

This happened to me last year, previously good seller just disappeared on me after I paid. I opened a dispute over it which they never responded to either so I got a full refund.

Ironically the same make of saddle came up again a few weeks later, which I won for £100 less than before and this has never been used!! So it kind of worked out well.

Give it till Monday to allow for unforseen delays then open a dispute if you haven't had a reply.

Thanks guys. I'm just a bit concerned, although I suppose there are many things that could prevent the seller replying. I will give it till Monday, and then say I'll open an item not received if I don't hear anything within 48 hours. I know I'll get my money back, it's just I've been searching for this saddle for months and will be really disappointed. Stupidly, I've already gone out and bought a new girth, the correct gullet insert and some new leathers for it - was also on the verge of booking saddle fitter for next week, so am glad I held back!
