I recently bought a jacket off ebay. I paid for it immediately after the auction and expected it to arrive within 5 working days as stated on the listing. After a week, it hadn't arrived so I asked the seller if it had been sent. No reply. I left it until last week (almost 2 weeks since I paid) and opened up a case saying I hadn't received my item, I also sent another message querying the whereabouts of my item. On Friday, I logged on to ebay to see the case had been closed with a message from the seller saying the courrier she had used had gone bust so she needed to recollect them from the depot and did I still want the item. I replied that I did. I have since had no reply and after logging onto ebay again today the case has been reopened. It's almost been 3 weeks now and the lack of communication from the seller is making me lose the will to live. The other day, I checked her feedback which was all positive but the only comments she has (2 of them) mention the item 'eventually arrived', these comments are dated 2 months after the listing ended. I am getting quite annoyed now, especially as I put off buying a really nice coat in the robinsons sale as I thought I had one arriving!

grrr If I can pay immediately then why can't the seller post my item asap or just communicate a bit more! It's almost past the point now and I don't know what else to do :/

Get back onto ebay and start demanding a refund. Even if the courier went bust the seller still has your money - and let's face it she could have sent it via Royal Mail's fastest and most secure route by now. If you get the chance to use the ebay phone line, do that and explain to them in no uncertain terms how bothered you are, rather than relying on the written word. If you absolutely still want the jacket, then contact the seller via ebay and tell them they have until x date to get it to you or you'll be demanding a refund.

Hate it when this type of thing ruins what should be a happy purchase, hope you get it sorted soon.

I had a similar problem to this: I bought an item on e-bay but the seller messed me around, THEN when I asked where it was, got a whole tirrade of abuse from her.

I opened up a file in the "case resolution centre" and e-bay, to be fair to them, were very good.

I was refunded the full cost of the item.

I'm not very experienced on e-bay trading, there are others on here who will advise you far better than I, but IF you paid by PayPal then I think its true to say that you should be protected if the item fails to arrive, for whatever reason. Don't let the seller bull***** you into saying the courier firm went bust, or whatever; I suspect this is merely a cover-up TBH.

Forget communicating with the seller, there's obviously no point in that...... I'd personally give the Resolution Centre a ring (there's a number SOMEWHERE on e-bay - I've seen it!!, think it flips up when you go into the Customer Services/Resolution Centre "bit".

Good luck.

Thankyou for the replies. I'll go back on the resolution center. I did pay by paypal so I am lucky. It is just annoying as she could have popped it in royal mail by now. I think I'm just going to ask for a refund, I can't be bothered with this any more. I think I am just going to save up (using the refund money) to buy a coat from my local tackshop so I know I will definitely have it!

I think that less people use Royal Mail now because its so expensive. I sold a coat on ebay charged £4,00 postage when I got to the post office it cost me £8.75p!!!!!!!!!!. Lesson learnt I should have checked first. Postage is ridiculously high.

I just sent the seller a message saying that if it has not arrived by Thursday, I will be expecting a refund and will be taking the matter further with ebay. I have given her one last chance and if it doesn't work then I will be contacting ebay.

You have 45 (I think) days to open an "item not received" dispute in Paypal. Don't allow the seller to stall beyond this date or you can kiss your money goodbye.

Is it better just to ask for a refund now then? She hasn't replied to my message and I doubt she will.

On my ebay it says ebay will close the case on the 24th June. Does this mean that after this point I will not get a refund?
