hi,
i've put this in here as i know most come in here, and many may have them, just not horsey ones so didnt feel it fitted in Careers!

So does anyone run an ebay shop?
i have been toying with the idea for a while but having just looked at some of them on ebay, i dont get how they can be making money at all.
Some of their items are being sold for pence above trade prices when you add vat, and some even are somehow managing to offer free P&P, how can they be doing this - especially when they will have their ebay and paypal fees ontop?

would love to hear from people who are making money at it!

I make a small amount and do it for fun and for a bit of savings but my brother does it for a living and earns a decent wage at it. He is registered self employed and has to pay pitance in tax aswell which makes me sick.
Every weekend he is up at the crack of dawn and is at every boot sale buying stock and then sells it on ebay at a profit - not everything does amazing but it all adds up and he makes a small profit each time on postage as he buys packaging in bulk. The majority of stuff he buys at boot sales will sell on ebay for at least 5 x what he paid for it - but he chooses the designers carefully - now and again hell find the odd thing which will sell for hundreds and he may have only paid £1!

My husband used to, but with such high fees and restrictions, it simply was not worth it.
