I bought some Wahl Stable Pro Clippers on ebay from a private seller and they don't work properly. They only took hair off in certain places from the blade and most of the time just went straight over the top of the hair. I washed and dried Daisy before clipping and she's already had one clip this year so the seller can't claim that her coat was too thick. I do know how to clip so I wasn't doing it wrong. In reality I would say that although it might say clipper on the box they are not suitable for anything more than trimming

Do you think that I can claim under Item significantly not as described? The seller listed them as clippers, and yes that is what it says on the box but the reality is that they don't perform the job.

Are they doing that because her hairs too soft now she' been bathed? Just a thought.

I wouldn't think there's anything you or Ebay can do about it, the seller's sold them as what the manufacturer's described them as, you said yourself that's what's on the box.

I've bought stuff from ebay before and had a problem. You have to check the sellers advert carefully as to description of item. If item doesn't do what it says on the box then you should be able to get a refund. I had one problem and found ebay helpful.

Post in stable yard with make of the clippers as the title [or on here ] and see if others have found these clippers useless. I found wahl dog clippers useless but they were only cheap. How much did you pay ,you need good heavyduty ones to clip a horse but they sound like they are sold for that purpose

Contact the seller, see if you can agree on a solution. What's their feedback rating like?? If it's 100% with hundreds of transactions, you should be able to get a result. Have you already given them feedback??

If you received the item recently, then you should be entitled to a refund if the item is not as described.

Contact seller, see what can be agreed upon. Failing that, contact eBay staff...if they can't help you, contact the clipper manufacturer and see if they can be repaired.

I bought them mid December but they only arrived two days ago because of Christmas postage. I've emailed the seller to ask for a refund, we'll have to see how much she values her feedback. If I had sold them I would do the decent thing. I know its wasn't her fault but it isn't mine either

Ive got the Wahl/Moser Avalon and the first clip is great although the second clip was a bit of a job. They dont take the hair off no where near as good as when he has a full coat. Sounds daft I know. Thought it was my blades but put a newly sharpenned set on and they were the same. I cant complain really as my horse was a nutter being clipped before I tried the cordless version of these.
Ive not read up about the Stable Pro but arent they more of a trimmer????

Just googled them and it says good enough for light body clipping and all trimming. Theres also something from a previouse H&H post that says they did a high trace clip with them.
Just a though, are the blades the clip snap on version cos they are quite hard to align sometimes and that would make them not clip properly.

Is the seller just an individual selling an unwanted item or are they a business seller? (how many items do they have for sale?) You may be covered under the distance selling act and be entitled to a full refund (excluding postage)

Hi, I have some similar they are the Moser Max ones, they are great to hog my cob and do his legs but last year when we tried to clip him they ran out of 'sharpness' about half way through. These are also sold as horse clippers with a wide blade. Thankfully my friend had some 'proper' clippers heavy duty Heiniger ones that finished the job, in fact they did the job better and quicker than the Moser ones which had been going half an hour. The Mosers have a clip on blade, which I have been told is not so good for clipping as the heavy duty screw on blades.

To be honest I would only use your Whal ones for trimming, you'd be better off getting a more robust pair for clipping but then they are really expensive you are looking at £200+. I use similar Whal ones to trim my Cocker Spaniel but don't think they are up to doing a horse.
