I would fully recommend it. My tb is constantly getting knocks and bumps and has rubbish immune system so vet actually recommended it. he's been so much better since. I also swear by it for humans.

Although saying that, prob takes about 20-30 days for it to really kick in so would start giving some asap.

Good idea, my mum swears by it for herself!! Never used it in horses though!!! Just make sure you get proper dosage advice, although I'm pretty sure I didn't need to say that!!!

Just be careful, I started taking it as my immune system is a bit poor and I have chronic fatigue. It stimulated it so well that I kicked into an auto immune response. My body started rejecting my corneas!!!!!!

This obviously is a very rare and unlikely event, but is worth knowing about, so that if anything odd starts after taking it you know to stop!!!! Lods of people totally benefit from it and do very very well, so I see no reason why it shouldn't be successful!!!

I bought NAF Echinacea Liquid only yesterday for my mare who is poorly with a bacterial infection, so i thought I'd give it to my other girl too to give her immune system a boost during winter. The dosage is 30mls so I put 30mls in their tea and neither of them would touch it - bearing in mind one is a very greedy cob I couldn't beleive it. This morning I thought I'd fool them and split it between meals so put 15mls into breakfast with lots of sugar beet. An hour later both breakfasts were still untouched. Tonight I put only 10mls in, again loads of sugar beet and guess what....neither ate their tea. This is completely unheard of, and bearing in mind one of them has anti-biotics at the mo and was eating meals fine with this in but won't touch meals with the ecinachea in it must taste BAD. So, if anyone out there wants to try the NAF stuff I have a barely used bottle just about to go in the bin!

I took Echinacea every day for 6 months one winter because I used to go down with every cold and flu bug going, esp over Christmas!

That particular year I didn't get a single sniffle!

I since learnt that you're only supposed to take it for a short period, like 2 weeks and then have a one week break!

Perhaps the stuff I was taking was quite weak - it was a honey/glycerin/Echinacea syrup - lovely!

Anyway, I'm now giving Echinacea tincture to my 3 ponies. 2 who have had cough viruses and one that hasn't caught it. Their coughs have cleared up really quick since being on it.

The tincture is buy 2 get one free in Boots at the mo - £5.99 a bottle!

I believe it works. If any of mine ill/get cut usually give them some in feed.I just use the tabs you get from health food shops.
Gave it to a mare with snots(not instead of vet) and cleared up fairly quick.Think it was one of those was it the echinea or would it have cleared up anyway things. But do always use it
