Does anyone use Eco Comfybed? I'm thinking of trying it but I'm worried it might be too like Easibed which I used years ago and found incredibly expensive - I was using at least 1 bale a day! Does it need to be deep littered as I prefer to muck out completely every day?

im using it atm,but in 5 weeks switching to verdo wood pellet.
i pay £6.95 a bag and add 1 a week,after getting the wet out weekly.it does need to be fairly deep bed to keep it nice and not smelly.
 
I have just started using it so not an expert yet, but so far I find it makes a very nice solid bed, more absorbent than shavings but on the down side one bale doesn't come to much in volume, so I think to keep a nice bed its going to take at least 2 bales a week. I had previously been managing on one bale of shavings a week so it will work out more expensive. I have been taking the wet out every other day as I don't want to deep litter.

I find it easier and quicker to muck out than shavings as doesn't get as stirred up.

I was hoping it would be more solid than shavings but I'm also concerned that it'll end up costing a fortune.
 
Yes the cost is a bit of a concern although I'm going to look into buying a pallet of 30 so may be cheaper that way. Also I'm hoping that as I get more used to it I might work out ways of throwing less away. If it works out just slightly more expensive than shavings I will probably perservere with it as it saves time mucking out and makes a very nice bed :)
 
Normally I would just buy a couple of bales of a new bedding to see what it's like but I'm guessing that you do need to make up a complete bed rather than mixing it in with existing shavings. This is why I'm trying to make up my mind before trying if that makes sense :)

well im on comfy bed as a go between,i was on flax,but everyone at yard has been ordering verdo wood pellet by the pallet load,so im joining in the band waggon too as it looks so good.
it works out cheaper per week,much much more absorbent and no smell at all from it!

i was on comfybed last winter only for a couple of months and after the stable this morning i remembered why i went back to straw. it does go dark and wet very quickley and idealy would need 2 bales in a week to keep it very deep.
