Expect you will all think I am crazy, but I am a bit of an ecowarrior and want a horse exerciser, and was looking at treadmills...when I saw the 'Athens horse treadmill' a kind of Amish thing that can power equipment/batteries etc..

It is loads cheaper than a conventional treadmill and actually makes sense to me with my thwarted self sufficient streak. Does anyone have any experience of using one or even be wacky enough to want to stick their neck out and risk importing one for themselves with me to reduce freight costs...

Hi All,

I've recently been thinking about installing a horse walker into our yard, however when looking online I stumbled across this website;

http://www.cambros.co.uk/Pages/default.aspx

I've never even heard of treadmills before so I'm just wondering what people's thoughts are on them? Has anyone one seen one in action or in fact does anyone own own one and are they a good alternative to a horse walker?

You're thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Stu

A friend of mine has a treadmill at her stud. She loves it and all the horses and ponies use it without issue although the only downside is you have to stay with them whilst they are on it, so not like a walker where you can leave them to it whilst go off and muck out.
