Does anyone use it? if so whats it like?

Thinking of using it on top of rubber matting, as fed up paying £7 a bale for shavings. I tend to just put a half bed at the back of the stable. Also how easy is it to get taken away?

yep, i've used it for about 8 years now. it's very clean (because the pieces don't break down to dust with use, unlike shavings), very warm, nice to handle. if you have anyone near you who has a wormery, they'll take it because the worms just love it! also, it mulches down fast for garden use. i use it on top of rubber, 1/2 a bed, same as you.
 
depends how many pallets you have, i usually have 2 (either 28 or 32 per pallet), and it's about a fiver per bale iirc, not sure as haven't had any for a while! sorry!
i might be able to get you a discount if you let me give them a ring tomorrow...

I used to use Ecobed but found it hard to sweep and very expensive.

Ive now settled on shredded rape straw bedding. Pear Tree Farm at Hartest (Suffolk) supplied it in plastic bales at £4.75 inc delivery (as many or as few as you like).

I keep a full bed on rubber mats and use a bale per week. Its easy to handle and smells lush. (You can also choose the menthol version which is even lusher).

 
I've used it for a few years and really like it.

Dust free, absorbent, soft, doesn't stick to rugs or tangle in tails. It's also a very soft and warm bed.

I do have it over 3/4 of the stable and qute a thick bed.
 
I love it changed my whole yard onto it !!!

where abouts are you - if you are near me can get it delivered to you at £4.50 a bale !! I only put in 1 bale a week - lasts a lot longer than shavings and you throw less away !!

My farmer absolutely loves it to !!
