Hi, just realised today that my bridle is falling to pieces and I really need to get a new one. Needs to be economy though as haven't got cash at the moment. Can you recommend a good make that doesn't break the bank and yet lasts a little good while/will look ok? . English leather preferrred. or does anyone have experience with synthetic ones?
Thanks!

how about a good make 2nd hand off ebay? :) you can often pick them up nice and cheaply...
other than that - i've got the odd shires noseband etc and it functional and pretty hard wearing (until horse chews the noseband strap - doh!) it does the job just fine :)

the heritage comfort ones on ebay are good if your horse has a chunky head, but would swamp a dainty type.....agree JHL is good quality for the price, or try second hand sabre or jeffries off ebay-you can pick up some good bargains on there :)

Thanks! Never thought of Ebay but worth a go. Will also look around the other makes, any others please let me know :)
PS horse has very fine head (and is a TB)

I have a TB and bought a leather Kincade full size for less than £30 from a well known online store. I covered it in Flexalan when I got it and soaped it really well and it's been great, soft and still looks nice despite a lack of cleaning on my part!

My friend uses all the synthetic ones, libby's, kincade, tecna etc. and they're all really durable, not necesarily the pretties looking but certainly very good value for money.

I used to a Robinsons bridle when I had my pony, it had clips on the ends of the cheek pieces so was really easy to change bits over - very good when we needed to go from a snaffle in the school to a kimblewick on hacks! It only cost about £25 and was English Leather too. It cleaned up beautifully and looked a lot more expensive than it actually was.
