I'm clearing out my room in anticipation of (finally!) moving out of my parents' house into my own flat and to my complete delight, came across a box filled to the brim of my old rosettes!
This might seem completely normal to many of you but the reason I'm so thrilled is twofold:
1) I used to be very competitive on my old pony - we had the best time charging round hunter trials, showjumping and WHP classes and winning loads of stuff. When I bought my horse, to move up a gear & compete BSJA as an adult, at our first competition, I fell on my head in the warm up and was out cold for several minutes. A couple of weeks later, he became very ill and I nearly had to have him PTS. He was on box rest for 6 months and then out at grass for a further 6 months and by the time he was ok to be ridden, I was very nervous and due to go to uni... we've only just now started to be competitive again (7 years later!!)
2) I thought I had thrown away the box in which I kept all my rosettes. Every time I thought about it, it nearly made me cry, as all those memories of me & my pony having fun have started to fade.
Anyway, I found this box and burst into tears!!
Sorry for the ridiculously self-indulgent post but am so happy!
