The course is built by Douglas Weynouth and he tends towards bold galloping courses with nothing too technical to trick you at the lower levels.
It is also one of the few places in the North that will have a 80 class - so would be good to start with that.
Also the SJ is on a surface - a bonus if it is still wet that time of year as no slipping
Douglas tends to build relative to the point in the season eg. Hutton 1 is always simpler than Hutton 2 ime and the permanent fences are very simple at Eden so it should be a good one. The other one I would recommend as a first is Richmond though it is quite a bit later.
