Edward's Trainer, Nicola Werner £280 per 45 Min Lesson Would You/Could You pay that??

Not a cat in hell's chance of me ever paying that for a one off lesson, even if I'd just won the lottery.
Fact is while Nicole may have track record in working with Edward she doesn't have one working with other riders.
As much as I admire Edward Gal have to venture the opinion that this rate per hour reeks of rip off.
Can't wait to hear from anyone who does go though, am happy to stand corrected but won't be holding my breath

im not expecting anyone to *fix* me in 45min BTW.....but im at the stage where fine tuning can/could, make a huge difference and i want to the best i can by my lovely horse. its the tiny gems that make such a massive difference, im wouldnt be expecting her to later the basics at all.hence, if i had the £££, id be there like a shot.

Not a hope in hell. I am going to stick the cat among the pigeons and say what a dam rip off. I dont actually care if she trained Edward Gal and Totillas, what works for him and Totallias may not work for you. She is cashing in on fame and as a business woman I can see why she may be able to get away with it, but for the ordinary horse and rider, no way. However, I suspect that she will get this from some of the dressage dollies I have met in my time, whose husbands are rich enough to fund their dressage habit, plus there will be some people out there gullible enough to pay it. Would I pay for it for Mini TX, no - I would much rather pay for 10 lessons with her normal instructor, who gets results.

Haha, sorry I posted mine without referring to your earlier post, which says pretty much the same thing as mine only in stronger terms LOL. I'm not sure anyone, ordinary horse and rider or budding Olympian, would get much out of this. BTW If I had that sort of dosh I'd go to someone with a clearer track record as a rider and trainer.

I think you would probably get better value for money and learn a hell of alot by spending the day watching the sessions for £30
I always say you get half a lesson just by watching one!

Ha, no, not at all! A lot of people (not only here; I am thinking of a discussion with a couple of friends too, though the trainer in that case was not Nicole obv.) really do seem to think that things like this would be somehow more 'worthwhile' if they had a horse working at GP?

I can't and wouldn't! I'd spend the money on having more lessons with my own amazing dressage trainer who knows me and my horse and can consistently help us to achieve our not particularly ambitious aims ;)

Sorry to hijack - Firewall I am sure I saw in an earlier post we stables near to each other...... Who do you train with as I am on the hunt for someone new?

Many thanks

much as i would enjoy the hilarity of taking the cart horse [ currently preforming poorly @ prelim] to such an event - i'll stick with my current trainer;)

Looking through all the posts it's very interesting to hear the comments. Most people feel they wouldn't spend that amount of money on a one off lesson and some definitely outright no.

I would love to hear from anyone who actually has a lesson, I wonder who those people are??? :)

If I could afford it I would consider it BUT would want to have seen her teaching some lessons first to get an idea of whether or not they would suit me and my horse.

So far as not getting enough out of someone who doesn't know you, if they're any good they can sum you and your horse up in a blink of an eye. A year back I had a half hour lesson with Carol Broad and she had us flying over 1.10 with no issues when we'd been having serious problems with getting over 90cm up until then. Prior to that lesson I'd had two flat lessons with her about 9 months previously so would say she didn't really know is but is so experienced and has such a good eye that she was able to tweak things sufficiently and "get" my horse - who's a bit unique - in an instant.

I do agree that you're better off having regular lessons with someone who can build a relationship with you and your horse as a combination but sometimes one off lessons can be extremely insightful. (Or a complete disaster as I have also found hence the caveat that I'd want to see her teaching first before commiting myself).

Just found the calculator - it works out at £6.20 a minute!
If your horse stopped for a wee it wouldn't just be spending a penny!
Sorry to lower the tone and for the record I wouldn't pay that much.

Ha ha - as a riding school rider, if I had money to burn I should love to test out the "all levels" training to the limit by turning up with one of the more, ahem, "schoolwise" ponies....maybe diving into bushes to feed his face and refusing to leave the other ponies were problems which cropped up when training the young Tortilas
