my pony is sound now... and i can start riding her again; not been off for long, but the poor pony looked miserable!!

my share horse is being lunged nearly everyday and behaving so well, and he is being ridden on tuesday, will see how it goes - hopefully he will behave and then i can start riding again!!! eek!!!

AND i have been offered a 4yo dutch wb to bring on once he has been broken. he is being broken at the moment and the lady once him brought on.
16/16.1
not bred for anything special, but she wants to see him hunted.
so the help i need is - do i take it????

so im going to be very busy this summer, with overtime at waitrose and 3 horses to ride and look after!!

Good to hear Wilma is back in work :)

TBH, IMO no, i don't think you should take on the 4yo, unless you are going to have LOADS of help from RI or similar, and are totally sure you're confident enough. Sorry to sound really annoying and pessimistic, but 16.1 is very different to 14.2 (as i'm sure you're aware! :D ) especially when the 16.1 is very green and possibly naughty (i'm sure not intentionally but still- unpredictable maybs a better word)- it could well be sharp- would you be ok with that? (Again, sorry to sound negative! :o )
Last year I was crash test rider to help break in and bring on a friend's 3 and half year old warmblood mare- and i wouldn't have dreamed of doing it unaided or unaccompanied, i'm just not experienced enough (not saying you're not!). I always had someone there instructing/supervising, because there is a lot that can go wrong.

Maybe you should stick with Wilma and share horse for a while and progress with them as much as possible. I think you want to affiliate Wilma- maybe make that your goal? :)

the other horse is 16.1 so the size and power isnt too much of an issue!

im going to have a look at it, and take my flatwork instructor with me to have a look and see what she thinks. definitly not going to do it on my own; my instructor, ex bf and mum will always be at hand!!!!

i broke and brought on a 3yo NF last year; i know completely different but she had a hell of a buck in her... and i was blessed that she was so quick and easy to break etc...

im not going to do anything i dont feel comfortable doing, and much rather the lady have the best possible person do it; and if i cant offer that then so be it.

Definitly my aim to affiliate wilma, and do some higher level dressage on the share horse but id love to do some work with youngsters - as that is what i really want to do.. and its good for my cv for uni lol
thanks for all the advice :)

thanks... if im not happy then im not going to push it with the 4yo; i just wont take it on...
