For numerous reasons - my vet and farrier have advised that I have egg bar shoes on my horse to help him. I am concerned about him pulling them off so think I will have to keep over reach boots on him 24/7. He is good with keeping normal front shoes on, but he is a big striding horse and worry with egg bars that he may pull them off. Can anyone recommend any really good over reach boots that may help, arent prone to coming off for field/work use? Was just going to put my normal rubber o/r boots on in the stable, but need something for working/t/o. Thanks all

There was a thread on this recently .. the general consensus was to double up on OR boots in the field (one pair smaller than the other)

I use Tri-zone No turn OR boots for work as the come down over the heel and over the edge of the shoe . They have worked wonders as I was going through pairs and pairs of rubber boots as Sol is a little exuberant to say the least

I used normal Over reach boots but made sure that they always touched the floor at the back. Duct tape round the hoog and heel is always a good one until they get used to their "new feet"

My mare has had egg bar shoes and pads on since April/may, we started off with over reach boots on but being pink skinned they soon rubbed (in a week) so we took them off, she events upto novice level and (touch wood) has not pulled one yet, she only wears one pair of normal eskadron over reach boots for xc and at no other time.
It may be worth trying with out to see if you need them at all.
