I saw an article in a magazine about egg box bedding and how it is really cheap, as my three year old is so dirty, i have to limit myself to two bales of shavings a week and the bed still loooks really dirty, so i'm considering using this egg box bedding has anyone else used it? I cant remember what it was called either so if anyone knows it would be a big help! Thanks

I tried eggbox bedding last winter and it was a total disaster. Might as well have used loo paper, all I ended up with was a soggy stinking mess & my horses aren't even wet.

Try deep litter, initially expensive to set up but well worth it in the end. Just remove the droppings and leave everything else alone.

Start by cleaning the floor well and putting down a layer of garden lime - this helps neutralise the urine. Then a good deep bed of shavings. I've always used straw on top as it helps keep the dung in place instead of knocked around the box. Then all you need to do is top up every few days with a bucket or two of shavings.

We used to use the egg box bedding that you get from Rye but I think they had supplier problems and so we switched to another type of bedding. I wasn't impressed with bedding though and won't be swopping back.
