well as some of you lovely people may know I have changed my girls onto raw meat which has helped them both loads. They use to have a horrid skin condition which even my vet didn't know what caused it and treatment was pot luck. They have now been on the raw for a month and I have noticed a big improvement on their skin so would like to say a big thank you to you all :D
Now back to the main point of this post. I gave the girls their dinner tonight mince with 2 eggs but after the hoovered down the light turned on I had not put the eggs in (I am a natural blonde :D) So thought hey why not just give them the eggs so gave them a egg each whole in the shell. They took it walked around with egg put in on the floor pushed it with their nose and picked it up again Then Dah dog (Silk white one) dropped hers Suki watched and dropped her one too great to watch them both working out something like this :D Now heres the dilemma is the shell good or bad for them as they both ate it now Im panicking that they may get sick from it. Please lovely knowledgeable people tell me I won't be rushing my girls to the vets because of this. :(

Glass of wine if you got this far :D

I've always given mine eggs in the shell. Some eat the whole shell other eat some and leave the rest, has never done them any harm. I agree its really funny watching them work how to deal with them.

I tried giving my lot eggs in the shell, they ate the eggs and ignored the shell :D So now I just crack the eggs for them, being a kind mummy and all

Wipes brow :D Thank you some much. I am still new to the raw meat but my girls love it :D Had a argument with someone today they said my girls where skinny and I should feed them Bakers told them that they where of normal weight and that I didn't want my girls to be lard blocks on leads and Bakers was one of the worst to fed a dog. when I told her the girls where on raw meat she freaked out saying my girls where dangerous and raw meat makes dogs attack people and children  My girls are soft as s*@t and hide behind me to protect them. They live with 4 cats my 7 year old son and myself and my black cat is the boss of all of us :D
Well eggs in shells from now on will try and get some pics of the girls next time :D:D

Don't worry we get that all the time! I generally just laugh in their faces.

I didnt realise I could feed whole eggs!!

Is it wrong that I really really want to wake the puppy up and give her a whole egg so I can have a bit of a giggle at her?? :D

If this woman's ignorance wasn't so dangerous, it'd actually be funny!

I had a woman the other week who came in to my shop with a staffy, a gorgeous beastie that was as fit as anything. You could see the muscle definition and no bones poking but very lean. She asked me what to feed it. I told her whatever you have been, cos he looked great. She said she'd only just got the dog from someone...and then she told me what they fed, but she felt the dog was far too thin and perhaps should give what she gives her other staff, about 3x as much. No n o no no....

A few days later, her hubby arrives with both dogs and to be fair, the one they already had wasn't exactly obese, but well on teh way there. The new one was by far the healthier specimen (in my opinion). And he was like "are you sure this one (the first one) doesn't look better???" erm, no - what happened to his waist line? I only know he's got ribs cos he's standing upright.

Both lovely laid back dogs, neither neutered but both really chilled. And a small child in tow as well. Staffies aren't my "favorite" breed, but it's not THEIR fault - it's sometimes just their owner's fault (I work in an area with dog fighting and lots of neds in track suits trying to look hard....or people who simply don't exercise them enough so they're hyper monsters).

Cavecanem :D:D:D

Littlemisslauren wake puppy up and have a good giggle. Silk was very fun to watch :D I call her the dah dog cause she is dumb I know not nice to say about my lovely dog. She did crack her egg first but that was only because she forgot she had it in her mouth :D

PucciNPoni I live in East London so see plenty on staffies about alot are owned by people that love and care for them but you do see on a daily bases young boys with them and you just know they have them for the wrong reason which makes me so mad  I get a lot of looks walking my girls especially when owen is walking Suki and I have Silk. I have had people telling me that owen shouldn't be holding a dog like that Owen can get both dogs to sit stay down and recall on and off the lead and I am always right next to him in case I am needed. :D

I know lots of staffs that are absolutely gorgeous natured - sometimes because of their owners or even despite them! LOL I used to see one that belonged to my postie -- and he used to show his dog with some success. I would have had him in a heart beat....but he was just a tad on the cowardly side, bless.

The only other reason they're not my "favorite" of breeds is the lack of fluffy hair in which I can make in to silly styles. LOL

LOL I don't do fluffy. As a child we got given an ex breeding yorkie she came to us with a full coat and after just one day we got the clippers out and shaved the lot off reason being after a walk with her we spent ages picking chewing gum leafs out her coat.

You learn something every day - I never thought to give my dogs eggs. A couple of weeks ago I just collected the eggs from the chickens and post man arrived with delivery so I put 4 eggs on dining table. When I came back to fetch them - there were only 3!? My little female cross breed had climbed up and taken one and was ever so gently guarding it on the lounge floor when I went to get it she carefully picked up and went it hid it behind a cushion. She used to be like this with her squeaky toy until we had to hide it because of dog fights. I had to ask her very nicely if I could have the egg back as I was scared it would make a mess on my couch :) She is obsessed now every time I go to collect them.

awwww, she's broody!

There's no way on gods green earth I'd give my lot an egg. IT'd be fine for the border terrier and the min pin, but imagine the mess it'd be in the poodle coat! His ears alone would probably start to smell eggy. I already have to wash him once a week, so no danger I'm going to bring him to work to bathe EVERY day!

mine gets eggs whenever he has a mince... chuck it in the blender (whole) so he doesn't notice the shell... he wont touch it otherwise!! the shells have LOTS of minerals e.c.t. in them!

LOL I use to give my presian (sp) cross cat a bath and hair cut as well :p

never thought of using yorkie as a floor sweep but in our house god only knows what she would have ended up having in her coat lol

I have six dogs and they all love eggs, the funniest is watching my little Bichonxchihuahua eat one, he will throw it up in the air and roll it around until he gets into it and then he licks out the egg. Somewhere I have a video of him eating one.

Hee hee - I too am thinking giving my dog a whole egg just so I can laugh at him :-)

He does have them cracked on his food once a week but I can't wait to see what he makes of a whole one...
